kinda demand issue

Ok i got brand new region (NY) with mostly large cities, so started first one and thougt to make it low wealth with agricultural industries mostly.

Atm it has 1400 ag, ~30 ID, 3099 r$ and 1100 cs$ population and ag demand was pretty ok, since all of a suden it went in ~minus 5000, and all other things are in minus too, except dirty industries, which i dont have intension to build atm (plan is ~2 larger factories later)

taxes are set to 9.0 R$ (20.0 all others), 9.0 CS$ (20.0 others) and 1.0 Ag, 9.0 ID and 20.0 other industries

Hers a pic with demand graph:

Any ideas why's that and how to get Ag demand in plus, its kinda absurd to me that game wont make farms, but dunno :\ Its also only city in the region atm, and i have bunch of mods instaled (no super demand ordinance or whatever it is tho)..

EDIT: deleted pic due to size 4.gif

agricultural demand is very easy to "kill" with education... do you have any schools? if your sims get over 60-80 of IQ your demand will drop like crazy. Now if you dont have schools, it might also be posible that you need to create some ID in order to satify some of that demand and then the Ag demand will grow again. Other posible thing is that your in a depresion (yes the game has those) and in that case you will probably need to create aditional nighbour cityes to get your demand back up.

How's your education? For agriculture, you want to keep it low. I can also see your garbage is getting high, you may want to deal with that. It would probably have an impact on the demand.

Also, the maximum size for pictures here is 800x600 pixels.

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

ye, sorry for pic's size, anyway, just checked, i got one of those rural deadwoods schools stage 1 which states:

    • Stage 1 - Designed for a rural community with a small school and some paddocks where students can learn animal and farming skills. This has a capacity for 750 students.
1 small library, somehow it pumped EQ to 160 :\

Just deleted school, so will see, btw where can you see eq boosts for schools and education buildings? I dont wanna my sims to be completly dumb, you know 3.gif How to keep em to 60 EQ?

well if i whant to use scholls in a rural area, i usually only put 1 elementary scholl, and the eq "almost" maintains below 60, but there is no guaranty, i usually finish my farms before making he shool. A EQ of 160... wow those farmers can make rockets! if you whant to get rid of that EQ youll need to demolish your library too. and wait for several years, since your workforce with education by age will most likelly stay smart for some time.
