Hi I am trying to get simcity to work on here and am wondering what posts i should look at for a step to step view on what to download so this runs perfectly for me.  Is this possible or did I waste 60 bucks?

I've a 13" macbook, and run simcity fine with no real troubles. So with a Mac Pro I doubt theres any problems to overcome at all.

Thanks for the replys! It works ok for now but its not overly fast and im planning on maing a huuge city with millions of people on large tiles. Im really worried im going to start this and it will just not work out. Is my 2008 macbook pro going to do the trick for this?

I attempted to put the Mac version of SC4 on my iMac and pretty much failed. So, I installed an XP partition, bought the Windows version, and installed it there. Not only does it actually work, but I'm getting much, much better, smoother performance out of the game than I ever imagined. Honestly, Aspyr really screwed the pooch when they made the SC4 port. I personally wouldn't bother with it anymore.

"screwed the pooch" ha ha,... they sure did. I played the mac version for years but when I finally made the switch (via a windows 7 partition and the PC version of SC4), I was amazed at the difference in the overall smoothness, speed and stability of the PC version. If you at all can, get a bootcamp partition of XP or 7 and the PC version - you will be thankful that you did. As for service pack 2, google or ebay...

via parallels (for eg) or via bootcamp? If via bootcamp, have you loaded the windows stuff from the 10.6 install DVD? If not just open the windows setup, put the DVD in and it should all make sense. If you are trying to do it via parallels it might be tricky... you may just have to transfer stuff over.

You are still better off using the Mac version. I run it on a 1.33 Ghz PowerBook G4, and a Core2Duo 2.4 24" iMac, and both run great. It is so easy to install and to play. Yes, some of the gameplay is not all that smooth, but nothing of any importance has issues.
