Maxis Landmarks, How to modd....

Im just wondering if it is possible to turn some of the maxis landmarks that came with the game into growables?

I can see how this can be done but how do I remove the buildings from the menus if I only want growable versions?

I am using iLive and the navigator and I cant see how this can be done without modding simcity1.dat.  My plan was to make a .dat of the landmark and go from there, but I am unsure if the .dat growable I create will remove the original landmark from the menu.  Is this possible?

Thanks

I think there's a mod out already that removes the Maxis stuff from the menues, so try to search for "remove Maxis" or something like that. You can also use the BSC SFBT Menu Management Lot (MML) Mod, it includes a MML lot that reduces all Maxis landmarks to a single construction lot, hiding the rest until you plop the construction lot.

As for using the Maxis landmarks on new lots, the easiest way is to use SC4PIM for that. When starting the program, select the Maxis plugins folder and then click on "Descriptors/Buildings" in the upper left. Click on the "Name" column in the upper right area to sort the models by name, and scroll down to "LM..." to find the landmark that you want to convert. Then simply drag the model to the desired RCI category, set a "filling degree" and adjust the settings to your liking.

I found the remove from menu mods by favrekev04 and downloaded them to see what they do. The mods create a .dat of all the maxis files and remove the lot resource key from them so that they don't show up in the menus. This will be helpful for me to know when I convert some landmarks into growables. It can also be useful to remove some buildings that I need for dependencies but I don't want in my menus.

Today I have been working on editing some reward buildings using Daeleys LUA script. I am unsure how to set conditions for IM, and the different wealth levels for Commercial Offices and Commercial Services. Is it possible to set conditions for these buildings and what values do I use?

For example Residential Wealth levels are covered by R1, R2, R3. There are conditions for Commercial city and regional population, but I don't know if I can separate them by wealth and type. I am unsure if I should use C1, C2, C3, and Co2 and CO3 or CO1 and CO2. For Industry I can try IM, and either IA or IR.

So much of this game I am learning by trial and error. It would really save some time and frustration to have more tutorials and documentation. I guess what I will have to do for these rewards is try different numbers and values and see what works. I should be able to tell by hovering over the ghost reward image rather then unlocking it. I will report the results in case anyone is interested.
