CTD without any possible reason

Hello everyone,

I need help regarding this problem that I haven't encounter in my whole life. After I downloaded the SWAP v 2.3 airports and the AC planes by voltaire, my cities that have "harbors" and "ports" like those of pegasus wouldn't load but instead would crash to the desktop while loading. I thought that the recent plugins caused it so i removed both the SWAP and the AC. The cities would load normal. I returned the SWAP and the AC to the plugins and to my surprise, the cities still loaded normal.  I continued playing for about two days and then the problem came back. I removed the SWAP and the AC but the problem still insisted. For two hours, I have been repeatedly loading the cities and resulted to a CTD until one time it actually loaded. I played and on the next day the problem came back randomly.

One possible reason is that you haven't installed the game update patch. Another reason might be that you need to use a custom resolution for the widescreen.

    I am using a custom resolution of 1360x768 , I think I have also updated my simcity 4 through the patch from the official site

    Airports & ports are all considered "ports" by the game itself. What you could have is a conflict of controllers. There was at one time a whole heated debate going on between Pegasus & BSC concerning theese controllers. You can only use one in the game. AC's controller will conflict if you use some but not all of Peg's seaport and canal port pieces (I am referring to the canal piece acting as a port - can't remember what it is called), and vice-versa. If your cities load normal with both removed, try using one or the other instead of both to see how far it will be playable. Both Peg's site & SC4D have words about these issues. Check them out.

    Thanks, this helped a lot. I actually found a simple remedy. I found out that If query the seaports or the airports and saved it, the next time it would load it would fail. So I simply avoided doing queries to the whole region and everything worked normal 9.gif
