Welcome to Blossomville. This is my first CJ, so please don't be rude with me. Constructive criticism is welcomed.

The aim of this CJ is to make a very populated, suburban city. This won't have skyscrapers or wide roads, all suburbs and villas. Only Low Density will be used.

cxlscreenshotblossomvil.jpg

Brrm... Brrmm Brmmm.....

-Yeah, looks like I'm going the right way, this should be West Road. And after the forest, I'll get to Perth.

cxlscreenshotblossomvil.jpg

-Oh, It's getting late. I hope I find a Fast Food or something!

cxlscreenshotblossomvil.jpg

-Argh! It's already night! Wait what?? A town?? But Perth is fifty miles away!

cxlscreenshotblossomvil.jpg

-I was right, a town! And this seems not to be Perth...Pff, what was I thinking, of course it's not!

cxlscreenshotblossomvil.jpg

-Ahh, that burger was delicious! Now back to my car...

cxlscreenshotblossomvil.jpg

-It's a pain there aren't hotels here. Sleeping in my car will have to do... *sigh...*

cxlscreenshotblossomvil.jpg

-Morning feels good. Let's explore town!

cxlscreenshotblossomvil.jpg

-My car deserves a rest. I'll walk.

More to come!1.gif

Nice start -- by the way, since you call these areas 'suburbs,' technically they are suburbs of something bigger - like a City....

Well, a suburbian city can be next to a big one..... And be the suburb of this bigger city. There are enough examples in the US......

And @ Hot cocolate: I like the way of presenting us the town through the eves of a driveing person 4.gif

Yeah i agree with skimbo! You can create a big city and small suburbs around... but a whole town with low residential zones is ALSO really cool and im really looking forward to your next update.

jazyje: I'm not a native english speaker, so excuse me.

    Skimbo: Thanks!

    johannesut: Glad you like it!

    Jaybyrd05: Thank you!

    Damastius: Glad you like!

-Umm, now I think about it, I don't know anything about this town! Will ask to a citizen.

-Hey, please, could you tell me where I am?

-Yes, of course. You are in Blossomville, Kingsground.

    -Kingsground?

-Yes, Kingsground, north of Northern Territory.

    -Thank you!

    cxlscreenshotblossomvilw.jpg

-That woman didn't tell me much... Well, so I'm at Blossomville... Hey, nice estates! I'd love to live in one of these. Is that a river?

    cxlscreenshotblossomvil.jpg

-Yes it is! What a beautiful one... Oh, the road ends here. But there seems to be a curve.

    cxlscreenshotblossomvil.jpg

-Let's see if there's something interesting here... An hotel, a phone booth...

    cxlscreenshotblossomvil.jpg

    -Nothing...

    cxlscreenshotblossomvil.jpg

-Hey! That house looks like my brother's!

    cxlscreenshotblossomvilg.jpg

    -Hey! Who's there?

-Alfred Newler, what do you want?

    -Alfred? Brother?

    -Alex? Is it you?

    -Yes!

    -How did you find me?

-I've seen millions of pictures of your house! You sure love it!

-Yes I do! But what brings you here?

-Well, I thought a road that leads here leaded to Perth... But it seems not?

-Hahaha! I already know what you mean. Some guys made a grafitti over the "Blossomville" label, and wrote "Perth"

-I already thought the text had a strange font... By the way, can I stay here until tomorrow?

-Feel free. I've got 2 extra bedrooms.

    -Thanks!

Thank you for the replies everyone, expect an update tomorrow!

Great storyline --- are you sure this isn't Princeton NJ???4.gif BTW, I didn't mean to say it was not OK to build a solely suburban area -- in fact, the term 'Edge Cities' is often used for suburbs that are actually more/just as important as cites nearby.... In the US especially so much growth and development has taken place in suburban areas that many cities are pretty much dead compared to their suburban lively counterparts.

Anyhow, keep the story alive -- waiting for more!

No way --- Hoboken is like Manhattan.... Basically another borough of NYC... Hoboken is the most densely populated city in America, by the way -- more then 50,000 residents per sq. mile!!! Even denser than NYC!!

This makes me want MC to hurry up with CXL2011 so we can specialize our cities and really have an impact with it..... I am dying to make a huge farming town with just little pocket communities like this everywhere.

    Roger51: Thanks!

    Damastius: Thank you!

jazyje: First, thanks. Second, did I even say you said it wasn't ok to build a suburb-only area?

johannesut (all replies): Thanks, and you want an update, huh? Well here you have!

Jaybyrd05: I also am impatient for the next expansion! I hope it'll make our cities better!

    blossomvilleupdate.jpg

Sorry for the delay, I had more things to do than this. Here is a new update anyways.

-Hey, Alfred, is there any place where I can learn more about this town?

-Sure, open Firefox and type in blossomville.kingsground.gov.

    -'Kay.

    -blo...ssom...ville...dot....kings...ground...dot...gov...

    Kingsground.gov
    Blossomville

Blossomville is a fairly new, small city next to Lake Blossom. Built near 1990, it has grown and now offers its section at kingsland.gov with all the information you need. It actually houses 2.531 people. Below you can see some pictures.

    Info

The Blosomville Residential Area houses Unskilled Workers, Skilled Workers and Executives. A poll confirms that the average satisfaction of them is 89 %. The various offices and shops keep people employed and happy. It also contains the Stevenson Hospital and HBCorp Basketball Field. It was the first district built. It contains the LBD (Local Bussiness District), the LWD (Low Wealth District) and the HWD (High Wealth District) It is connected with the industrial district via Abelradd Road. Its next expansions will be: HWD Expansion, ESD (Eliites special district)

    Info

The Industrial District was built for another alternative to solve the 2001 jobs crisis. It has heavy industries, manufracturing and high tech. Now it's a bit insignifcant and unpopular, through many people have jobs there. It's projected to get some more high tech for the new HWD expansion.

Both overview pictures are indeed amazing for such a small town. You seem to take the time to build, looking at every detail. I love that as a player. Keep it up!

(Excuse the title, just a typo)

-Ugh, what a pain. I thought I could get a nice home in that ESD... Bah, who cares. I'll have a walk to calm myself.

    cxlscreenshotblossomvil.jpg

    -Bye, Alfred!

    -Bye!

    cxlscreenshotblossomvil.jpg

    -La, laralalaa...

    cxlscreenshotblossomvil.jpg

    -??!

    -Ah, the HWD under construction.

-I think the Industrial District is this way. I'll visit it then.

Alex's walk will continue in the next update!

Hey, brilliant city, and the story makes it really interesting! You can tell you've put a lot of work into it.

However I do have one suggestion. I have noticed you play the game at low graphics (like me, what graphics card do you run? I run an ATI All-In-Wonder X1800XL, but upgrading to a GTS 250 in a few months), and therefore although your city is nice, the screenshots do not look as nice. Even though you might get like, 2-3 frames per second (like me), how about you try putting the game up to max settings (High, and 6x AA, as long as it doesn't freeze your game, and if it does just put it to medium with 2/4x AA or something) for the screenshots? Thats what I do, and it looks a lot better.

However, I don't think it will look AS good as the other screenshots on this site from people who always run the game at high, as your graphics card most likely will not be able to physically render a lot of the high-end stuff, which I think is similar to me, because medium graphics and high graphics appears to have only a very subtle difference to me. But its still worth it.

And I know this is coming off the topic and its not relevant to the OP, but do you think a GTS 250 would allow someone to play this game at high graphics with, say 2/4x AA without lag (with 4GB ram and Dual core 3.0ghz processor) if its a fairly small city? Obviously you would need to make the quality worse the bigger your city is, eventually going down to something like Medium with no AA eventually.

Anyway, sorry for the long post, but very nice city!

joshphillips999, I'll try with higher graphics, but i'm not at home and can't do it now. Thanks for the information. About the graphics card, I really don't know about that kind of things. I would suggest you to ask it on the right forum. Thanks.

The idea with the "Bloomsville Times" is a very good one... And I also like the way you tell us the story about (you?) passing around in this beautyful small city.

So let's see wether the elites move or not in this peaceful town... In my opinion it would be a good option...Of course the decision is upon the mayor ...
