I'm pretty new to this site, but not Simcity 4. My cities always look so bland and symmetrical. I also seem to have alot of the same buildings pop up. Then I look at these city journals that completely ruin my confidence in creativity and efficenty in a city. Haha, I also have to make my rich sims literally two blocks away from their workplace. That's not my kind of realistic, but anyways. I would just like some links to some building packs so I don't have so much of the same building, and maybe even some tutorials on beauty and style while having a functioning city. Thanks in advance, and thanks for just viewing this thread.

Go check the Simtropolis omnibus for guidelines to in detail tutorilals on how to run your city, how to make it beautiful, and how to make it realistic. have fun building!

Ps. You should probably change the topic title to something different like help I'm new or something or most likely people won't come to your thread. I just came cuz I accidentally pushed the thread name.-no offense.

I have the same problem as you.  My cities are always square and ugly looking compared to some of the cool cities and regions in some CJs.  It is a habit of mine to have things neat and orderly but I am trying to break the pattern to have more realistic cities.

One thing that could help build more realistic cities is to not place high density zones everywhere and try to stay away from using a grid pattern for all of your streets.  Build for aesthetics and not for pure functionality.
