Version: 1.0 (Final)

Date: 09.03.10

After a month of writing emails and waiting patiently,  I now have permission to share the following save games from Planet Offer with you all. These save games were created when Planet Offer existed and are all in .SAV format.

** YOU WILL NEED TO CONVERT THEM TO OFFLINE SAVES FIRST **

** USE AT YOUR OWN RISK! **

Monte Cristo will not help with any problems that result in the use of these files, directly or indirectly. So here's some advice from me:

1. Scan all files to make sure they are virus free. They were when I uploaded them.

2. Make sure you back up any cities you've done so far. Y'know, just to be safe.

3. The save files haven't been tested so I can't garauntee what they'll do to your game, or if they'll work properly. Still, it's worth a try?

Each save game is a blank map with 400,000c and 0 population, just like starting a new city.

Included saves in this archive:

- The Rocky Summit (*** Oil,)

- The Three Valleys (** Oil, ** Fertile, * Water,)

- The Rugged Mountain (* Fertile, *** Water,)

- The Coastal Plain (**Oil, ** Holidays,)

- The Great Lake (* Fertile, *** Water,)

- The Crater (** Oil, ** Water, * Holidays,)

- Re de Janeiro (*** Holidays,)

- The Valley (*** Holidays,)

- The Volcano (* Water, * Fertile, * Oil, * Holidays,)

- The Rolling Plains (** Oil, * Fertile,)

- New York (*** Holidays,)

- The Grassy Canyons (*** Holidays,)

- The River Plains (* Oil, ** Fertile, * Water,)

- The Shattered Coast (** Oil, * Fertile, * Water,)

- The Two Sisters (* Fertile, ** Holidays,)

- The Cliffs (** Fertile, * Holiday,)

Download Link 1   Offline  (Send a PM if you want it and I'll put it back on)

Download Link 2   Online  (Hosted by danielsa)

Saves not yet added to the above archive:

- The Coastal Bay (by weemajea)  Online

- The Coast

These are separate for now because my bandwidth is limited. When it resets I will merge them. 4.gif

ps. Gregory_C is aware of this.

You can replace any single player map with any of the save game maps above. For example I'm going to replace "The Lake Lands" with "The Two Sisters", because I don't like The Lake Lands much.

    1. Go into the game and make a new city on The Lake Lands map. I called mine 'Test', but if you have a proper name in mind call it whatever you want. You can always change the city's name later by editing cities.cxl in notepad. (Just don't use any bizarre characters or numbers, be sensible.)

    2. Save and exit the game. Browse to your solo saves folder and look at the date/timestamp of when you created the new city. This is why I suggest you back up any cities you don't want to lose in case you accidentally replace the wrong one. In this case, I see "solosaveregion1map1.sol", this is the one I need to replace.

    3. Copy "The Two Sisters.sav" across to your solo saves folder. and rename it so that it ends up as "solosaveregion1map1.sav", then delete "solosaveregion1map1.sol", and finally rename your .sav file to .sol, thus replacing the single player map with the planet offer map.

    4. Enter the game and load the city again, it now has a new map with two islands.

It worked, so there's no reason why the other ones won't work although I think Rio de Jeneiro and New York might cause issues. Those two have landmarks built into them so I'm not sure if they'll cause problems or not. If you delete a city which has a modified map it will put the single player map back, in which case you'd repeat the steps if you want to modify the map again. If your game crashes when trying to load a modified map, delete the save game and it should put the single player map back.

I have limited time to test every possible outcome, so I can't promise everything will work 100%.

Thanks a lot for the maps. I've been trying to get the New York and Rio before the end of PO but was unable to find any available space on the planets! I have just install the NY map and it works!!!! All the landmarks are there.

The .sav files can go anywhere on your computer, as they are not used at all by the game. Only when you convert them to .sol format are they used. I'd recommend putting them somewhere where they won't be lost, in case you want to re-use a map for another city you make.
