I have just put my first bus line in but there is a section that is broken. How can I fix this? Or do I have to

delete the bus line and do it all over again? Please help!

Hi,

In my experience you have to delete the bus line and start again. Shame really but I have also found that

I needed to make several attempts to get the bus line working well.

Try using the tabs re; public transport too, as one of them shows the range of each bus stop along the line,

thus helping to make that particular line as efficient as possible.

Hope this helps you. good luck.

don't know if this will help.....after completing a line back to the terminal and 'clicking' the mouse, the line will briefly 'blink' and then go to a 'solid' line outlining the route. if there is a problem at the time, I think the line will continue to 'blink' and maybe you could 'right-click' the mouse back to the point where the line is broken and fix the problem (like constructing a road and encountering an obstacle). i have 'broken' a bus line but it was due to accidently remodeling a subdivision where the line travelled and my only solution was to delete the line and start over. there is also a topic in general discussion that I originated when busses came to solo game play. i have received good feedback from more experienced players in this post and it may be worthwhile to enter your question there to see if it gets any replies.

Well, I have several bus lines, everything works well for a long time, and then, all of a sudden, I have a broken bus line in areas I didn't even touch or made changes. This is really weird. All you can do is delete the line and start over I guess.

I had one line which was always broken after I restarted the game. What I would do is locate the stretch of road where the line was broken and delete one of the side roads that connected to this stretch. . For some odd reason that would repair it and the line would appear again and work. Until the next restart. Odd but.....

One thing I noticed with buses in solo is that when you first establish a line it will show up as broken and then begin to work normally. Sort of like businesses being unprofitable when they first set up. So if your game is paused when you are drawing the line, let the simulation run for a little while so the line can start working. Although I also had cases of the line breaking when I restarted the game. Don't know what to do about that.

It's exactly what happens to me Boris. Anytime I load up the city again, I have at least one bus line that is suddenly broken out of the 36 lines I've got. I need to delete it and do it again. It's weird. I wonder if it's because of the sandbox installation.

By the way, my buses are barely used. Do you have to have a gigantic population for it to be used? I have may lines, connecting to each other, the whole city is covered, but yet, I barely have more than 10% overall usage. Any tips on that?

The bus lines has to connect your residential areas(where people live) with offices and industries (where people work). Also, only unskilled and skilled workers will take the bus. If you do these two things, the bus lines will be filled. Good advise is when creating the bus line, always choose the smallest bus size. Over the the time if the line is successful switch to normal or double decker bus when it reaches its maximum capacity. Another tip is to use same stop for more than one bus line. Then the people can change the lines at this stop (it also works when the two stops are near). Hope this will help.

Either switch to smaller buses to save on upkeep costs until more people start using them, or delete some lines and just have fewer but longer lines.

Not really. Executives in my city also take the bus but I think they do it only when they do not have to interchange (that means that a single bus line needs to go from their house to their workplace).

I had a bus line broken once. I couldn't fix it so I deleted it and made it anew.

I often get my bus lines to a 70-80% usage with double decker buses in my 500,000 population city - I guess it is really important how you organise them - the best thing is to make them long, connecting residential to industrial / office areas.

BTW there is a mod that allows you to place more than 40 bus stops on a single route. I haven't tested it yet, but it has positive feedback. It is available on the CitiesXS website:
