KSJC runways are in!  Next up is the west side general aviation and executive hangars.

I've just finished some filler lots based the Diagonal Runway Project textures to get rid of the jagged edge look. I can upload here or forward them by PM if you're interested. (Unless you are using different runways).

Definitely!  Would be very cool to have those.  Suggest uploading to the STEX so that its available for everyone to use.  Thanks!

I have 50+ security fence and road lots I've made for my personal game for the DRP (Diagonal Runway Project) tarmac and grass textures but in all honesty, I think most can probably be found in other smaller uploads. If I get around to taking note of the dependencies I might look at uploading but it might be too repetitive with the other member uploads.
I have added a zip with 9 grass textures to assist in getting rid of the zigzag effect on the diagonal runways, you probably just need 2 as I can see you are trying to retain your in-game grass texture, where as in my pic below, I have completely filled the zigzag sections with the runway textures. You can delete what items you don't want, just keep the texture files.

Thank you for sharing the grass textures @Dono and let me encourage you to share the security fence lots as well. From what I can see in your picture, they have roads directly next to the fence, which I haven't seen anywhere else yet. And if you have diagonal fence lots, those are desperately needed.

I've made all the bases for the diagonal fence lots as I had originally used the PEG security props as my fences as they had diagonal fence props. Unfortunately, they were more suited to Industrial lots (which I have also created for the IRM I-M Texture) but the fence I ended up with (also one of PEGs) doesn't have a diagonal. I'm very much a newbie in the creation side, I've downloaded Gmax/Bender, etc and when I find a year to work out how to design a diagonal model/prop lol, I'll have something worthy to release.
These are what I have so far for the tarmac texture used in the Diagonal Runway Project without the diagonals.

Nice work @Dono! I'm looking forward to seeing everything you come up with to enhance the DRP! I knew there were pieces I didn't account for and never had the free time to return to it and fix what I missed. The perimeter road and fencing are great!

Ha, my mere lots have nothing on your creations but thank you and thanks for the DRP, I could imagine during its creation you you would have gone down that road of "at what point do I stop" lol...as I've learnt, one thing leads to another.

Hi @Dono, are you closer to sharing those fence lots?

Hi, I've created the diagonal fence props and have all the lots. I had to relot the ortho lots, as the new diagonal fences I created in Bat4Blender were going to be different, I hoped I would get away with keeping the older fences, but I got carried away using DXT3 to get the fences as realistic as I could...so I had to remake the ortho fence props as well. Apart from the new diagonals, just their existence caused the need to create 23 more lots and 19 textures for the diagonals to integrate with the orthos :(
Now.... I'm just adding SPOT for easier user plop alignment, and I just yesterday finished all the lot icons, currently just adding the item order and adding the new icons. If I had a day it would be done, I'm lucky to get an hour lol.

Don't forget to create the submenu for these lots and add them to the Airport Submenu.

I've done this in my game but was considering looking into how to do this as a part of the upload.

So after 7 years absence, I'm back on SC4. I'm starting with my region's airport which is essentially a condensed version of Heathrow. Not 100%, but remixed and inspired by. I'm going for 'detailed enough' as I know when I expand further into the region and start building towns and cities, I won't have the patience to be ultra-realistic all the time!

It's been interesting trying to get creative with existing lots and props, to try and best appropriate my vision. I've been fumbling around with lot editor to tailor things a bit more.

It's amazing to see some of the cool things people have continued to develop for airports, and some members I've spoken to recently have been incredibly helpful. Thanks! (pssst, I have a list of things I'd like!). That said, I do have some of the skills required, so in future when I have more time I may be in a position to help create new assets (beyond rearranging things in Lot Editor).

I'll start by sharing a couple of closeups. I'm still sizing things up and making sure the layout works before I commit.

  • The first shows the end of a satellite terminal and some of the very long jet bridges found in real life at Heathrow's T5
  • The second shows the main terminal building and forecourt, with skywalks linking to the carpark.

Automated Notice Message

All posts after 1 March, 2026 @ 01:37 GMT were lost in the site crash.

We've added this message thread divider in every topic across all forums for what were then active threads. (We decided active is if the most recent extant post (from the backup) was on or after 1 January, 2026.)

This divider serves as notice that the conversation was interrupted. Answers and further discussion which used to be here have been lost. Keep this in mind when replying. Our hope is to rebuild what is missing.
