Hi,

Am I correct in assuming that I simply go into the BSC Mac Archive, click on kbooms1w sig link to the Mac download page and can download everything from there?

I have been downloading stuff for the Mac OK from the regular STEX page, but some of them only contain .exe files for the PC :-(

I really want the UK stuff done by gascooker.

Cheers.

Yep, and I think most, if not all, of Gascooker's stuff is there.

I am not sure but I think StuffIt or some other free compressor like ZipIt can decode .exe files if they are compressed files.

All of gascooker's work is either to be found in the BSC Mac Archive or available as normal .zip files on the STEX.

I am playing on a Mac, too. And I have used all of gascooker's amazing UK-BATs, as you can see in my UK village project.

But I think that no new stuff is going to be added to the Mac Archive, because of FileJuicer, mentioned above.

And another thing:
PEG's work is also in .exe files here on the STEX but you can go to his support site . There you can download the normal .zip files after registering.

Edit:
Oh... I didn't see that this question was posted a month ago. Sorry.

<reply to pretty much pointless rant>

It has two reasons.
First: It is meant as a tribute to the great work the owners of the names do.
Second: It is to help other people to see quickly what I am talking about.

Edit:
A typographically better way would be to use 'small capitals'. But I don't think that they are available in the standard web-browser fonts. As well as they would be much harder to insert in your post.

I have a problem with PEG's packs for the seaport walls and navy piers, his forest packs and everything. They never work. How can they work?

I went to the archive and downloaded everything. I then tossed out everything that was marked as Rush Hour or Deluxe, because I don't have those expansions. I read carefully through the tutorials and related threads and tossed all .dat files into the game's plugin folder and all lot/model files into the documents/plugins folder, and made sure that the htmls and jpgs etc all were removed.

A couple of the plugins actually show up as new content. The vast majority, however, shows up as ugly brown packages.

I'm reading now that the mac archive is being discontinued in favor of a program (fruit juicer) that I can't run on my Jaguar. Is it correct to assume that I'm missing a gazillion prop files that don't exist in the archive, and that the only choice I'm left with is nuking it all and going back to the game's original content only?

.... Oh, and setting graphics etc to max is still only showing me ugly green squares for playgrounds, gazebos etc. In short, I don't think this game likes me. 33.gif

I don't use a Mac but I do know that most files on the BSC Mac Archive and STEX need Rush Hour or Deluxe to run them without the brown boxes. That is your main problem.

I don't know about Jaguar but I am sure that kboomsw1 or someone else will answer on that point.

BarbyW is right, without RH, most custom content is not usable, but a small portion works, look at the first page of the Macs, what works, what doesn't thread in this forum, probably pretty far down, but a search will turn it up.

So the brown boxes are not because you're missing props, but because you don't have RH, if you decide to get RH 99.99% of custom content will work.

I don't know what the graphics problem is...
