Decorations are really starting to cheese me off.

Hi,

The decorations like plazas, wooded forests etc are really starting to cheese me off.  There are places that are obviously closed in by roads and yet when I attempt to place decorations I'm informed that the areas are not enclosed by roads.

How do I work around this obvious shortfall of a feature in CXL?

Thanks,

If the area between roads is too big, you will not be able to place a decoration. You can separate the area with smaller roads, fill the decorations and then delete the roads and replace them with decorations again. Or there is a mod for larger plazas but I have no experience with it.

Alright, thanks for the info, I'll look for the mod that allows larger plazas because after I've already built some houses or buildings around an area and am left with a (I guess too large) of an area in the center there is no way to place a road to subdivide it without actually removing two buildings first and I'm one of those people that hates to actually tear out buildings once they've been placed so the larger plaza mod sounds like a good thing to me.

    Much appreciated the info.

The roads to divide large areas for decorations don't need to be connected to other "real" roads. So you shouldn't have to destroy any building. Sometimes even adding a little bit of road(random straight line) in the middle of a large empty area is just enought to be able to fill in the rest then simply destroy the road and fill what remains.

    I hate that too.

What i do, is if i have a big area, i divided it with small farm roads and then erase them and place the british style plaza, that one looks more like a pathway hehehe.
