Dude! that looks sweet! It looks like a big region though, so I would suggest going to scc and downloading the region Censensus tool. Its great thing to have for city journals. If you do d-load, could you please post a pic of the whole region? Maybe evevn post it on the MEX?

    /idealbb/files/Kunimurawholehttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files/Kunimurawhole%20copy.jpg border=0>

Ok, at the top corner of the map you can see Kunimura Bay. At the lower left corner you can see Jasmine Bay. The lake to the bottom right is Volks Lake, and the lake in the middle to the right is Lake Wachala. This is the region view so far, I will start showing pics of development soon, so bear with me!

    Thanks for all the comments.

Alright, this is my first official update on 03/20/04

The first city settled was Mercades. With the arrival of the Kunimura Krabsin Continental Rail Road, or for short KKC RR Mercades officials were interested in developing an industrial base.
    /idealbb/files/MKKCRR1900.jpghttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files/MKKCRR1900.jpg border=0>
This photo was taken shortly after the construction of the KKC RR began in 1901.

A Round House was needed in order to store the KKC RR trains and other equipment that was needed to service the rail system.
    /idealbb/files/MRHI1900.jpg
This photo was taken shorty after the Round House and the surrounding rail yard was completed, this photo was taken in on August of 1901.

After the rails were running for a few years Mercades started to really grown. This costal city would be the perfect location for a booming commericial center. Mercades officials were excited to start zoning.
    /idealbb/files/MRCPRRP1910
This photo shows the proposals throw at the Mayor. These were all proposals to take place by 1910.

    /idealbb/files/MCP.jpg
This photo shows the completed Mercades City Park opened in October of 1908.

After the opening of the new city park, it was soon agreed on that Mercades needed a new Mayor Mansion.
    /idealbb/files/MMH.jpg
The Mayors new place of residence was completed in 1909.

Well thats all for now, I hope to have another update either tonight or tomorrow, and I would love to hear your comments, thanks a lot!

Mayortim: This is the first time I have tried to have a slow start to my region. Its kind of boring.... but I will have an update probably tonight when I get home from work, and it will show the city of Mercades about 20 years later. The update will also include the new city of Hottentot, which is just south of Mercades and another city which is a college town of Thievery, which is to the east of Mercades. I will also include an updated region shot.

Very cool. Regions with lots of water are my favourite. One suggestion: add a river manually. You can ferry citizens and increase land value (a bit) of the inland cities.

I had planed an update tonight but ST was down for a little while when I got home from work, so I will have a longer update tomorrow monring!

flamesrock: Thanks for the suggestion, but I already have an idea, I think I am going to add a canal from Krabsin Bay south to Jasmine Bay. I plain to have my ports built up around that.

    Thanks for all your comments.

    Update 03/21/04

Alright well I decided to show the city of Mercades about 20-30 years later then the earlier pics. Mercades has developed rather nicely with plenty of on shore shopping. The current population of Mercades is 22,895 with 5,859 commercial jobs with 1,628 industrial jobs.

This photo shows the shore of Mercades in September 1944.

    /idealbb/files/MBH1942
This photo shows the first beach resort in Mercades, along with the sandy white beaches on a warm night in July of 1942.

    /idealbb/files/MISP.jpg
This photo shows Mercades Island State Park, the Mercades Tower was built during the summer of 1948, then once complete a passanger ferry system was added so the citizens could gain access to this great structure.

    /idealbb/files/MISP2.jpg
This is another photo that shows Mercades Island State Park from another angle.

Alright thats all for now, I will have another update later today (I hope) showing the college town of Thievery and the vast college campus of The University of Kunimura. Thanks for checking out my journal, and I would really like to hear comments, good or bad, or if you want to see something in pertucular just let me know. Thanks again.

Ok, I am just going to update this post ( 03/22/04), rather then posting another post with my pictures of the college campus and the town of Theivery, sorry for not putting all the pictures up yesterday some of my pics were too big, so I had to resize them.

The University of Kunimura or UK for short was put on the drawing boards in 1953 by the very famous Architect A. Thunda. The design called for 5 main halls, seperate freshmen and uperclassmen dorms, along with athletic fields.

    /idealbb/files/TUK1.jpg
This photo shows the land that was purchased for the college project. The first shovel broke ground on Feburary 2, 1954.

    /idealbb/files/TUK2.jpg
This photo shows the completion of the campus on May 10, 1963. The campus took 9 years to construct.

    /idealbb/files/TUK3.jpg
This photo shows the different Halls of the campus, along with the famous The Bends Clock Towwer.

    /idealbb/files/TUK4.jpg
This photo shows the completed athletic fields.

    /idealbb/files/TUK5.jpg
This photo shows the Uperclassmen Dorms, a large leap up in class from the Freshmen Dorms.

    /idealbb/files/TUKN1.jpg
This photo shows the north eastern corner of the campus at night.

    /idealbb/files/T12.jpg
This photo shows the Theivery Tower shortly after the college campus was constructed, this photo was taken in August 1963.

    /idealbb/files/T21.jpg
This is another photo showing a portion of the campus and also a portion of Theivery in July 1964.

Alright, thats it for now, I really would like to hear comments, good or bad, suggestions or anything of the sort. Thanks a lot.

b007: I take it your refering to the lots around the college, yes it was just something I made really quick in the Lot Editor.
Smurfer2: Yea, Mercades has turned out to be a nice little rich costal town, just what I like.
Avstime: Thanks, the costal highway will end up working its way all the way around the bay and all the way up to Manchester Island.
