Is there any way to remove all the borders and just make one, continent spanning city?

It's not possible. The largest tile is the large city tile, I'm afraid.

    All CitiesXL cities are 10km*10km. The largest SimCity 4 city tile is 4km*4km and that can be modded.

    Ocram's Razor: Though "more things shouldn't be used than are necessary," they're just too fun to pass up! Expect many verbose arguments from me. I will try to write abstracts before or short summaries after from now on.
