Howdy! On behalf of Joey(froelich131), I present to you the Terra Nova Project! A joint CJ brought to you by Thepokemaniac Productions and Froelich131.

How this will work is that we will both alternate with updates. Joey will be doing updates on the Earth, while I will be doing updates on Mars through the use of the SimMars Mod. We hope you enjoy this, stay tuned for more!

Mars: Dust

Welcome to the first Martian Update!

This is Sector Gamma. Started in 2067, this was originally used as a prison colony. Now it is being converted into a space center and industrial research center.

Oops! Looks like we've arrived in the middle of a rush hour dust storm! Here, commuters are shown trying to make it through a bank of thick red dust.

Further down the main road, we will pass some aerospace manufacturing plants, as well as more small dwellings for laborers and workers. The domed building is a greenhouse, called "indoor agriculture" on Mars.

This is another residential district of Sector Gamma. Here, we will see 2 common sites on Mars; the Earth Statues, and the Wireless Tower. The Earth Statues are to remind the masses of where they came from, and the Wireless Towers are to supply universal phone service, internet, and to track colonists. While they are a symbol of technological advances, they are also symbolic of the tight control the Earth has over Mars.

This is the main industrial district of Sector Gamma. Due to the dust storm and pollution, air quality here is very poor. JUST FOR FUN: See if you can find 2 Wireless Towers in this picture!

Over the open planes, the dust storms are much stronger. This is an arial shot of the currently under construction New London Spaceport (New London is just down the road from Sector Gamma.)

Oh no! I think we need to get out of here, this storm is getting very bad, as you can see the large dust clouds moving in on the space center. This is one of the launch pads for the New London Spaceport. In the future, a Runway and 4 other launch pads will be added.

Welcome to New London! What better name for an update about a city called New London would there be than "Here comes the sun?" In case y'all didn't know, its the name of a Beatles' song. In this case, the metaphor is very appropriate. I  hope you enjoy!

Although it is a very bright day, the temperature is -127° Celcius today! This is beacause it is the middle of winter in the northern hemisphere.

Here we are! The current city limit to New London is under this pipeline. The pipeline is under construction currently and wont be finished for years. Its primary good to transport is still being voted on, whether it be water or oil.

New developments are popping up all over the city. This is a boom time for New London, the economy is huge, and some are even comparing it to Dubai in the early 2000's. What goes up must come down, does the same apply on mars?

After zooming out, you can see the newest musem on mars, the Intergalactic Mars Colonization Museum. More tall condominiums are also popping up in this area known as "Colonial Place"

This is Colony Center. It is the oldest part of the colony. On the left side of the road, several of the old ancient dwellings are being demolished and replaced with newer condos, as shown on the right side.

This area is called Downtown to the locals. Experts say that with a boom economy like this, this area could be one of SEVERAL downtowns in new london. The tall building in the center is a multi purpose office tower and is also the Mars HQ for Thepokemaniac Productions.

This is Sattelite Place, famous for its large sattelite dish. It was built in 2073 for inter planetary and inter-colonial communications. It is also where all the Wireless Tower signals are sent to for transmission to Earth.

This is a residential district near downtown. To the bottom left is the Energy Crater. It is where the prisoners labor in the power plants and trash incinerator.

This is the Industrial-Agriculture Crater New London. Here, Greenhouses grow food and raise animals. There area also several offices and condos being built along the ravine to the north(bottom).

A close up of the Energy Crater. It was once called the "Prison Crater," but it was later renamed due to negative connotations.

Once an indoor agiculture paradise, This crater has bene converted into a major industrial complex, the third largest on the Planet. However, in the near future, growth is expected.

Well its nice for a start into SimMars! But here's the thing, do you want to expand that city of yours to be huge or as is? If you wanted it to be huge, you can use CAM, downloads from the SMEX, or search BATs for futuristic buildings such as the ones that SOMY made.

Very nice update! And boy that was weird to say, but my first update, is for sure going to be next year  

Sounds like a lot of time, but only like what? 12 days? Oh yeah, this is mostly because the game is constantly crashing on me so i can only work on the city a hour or 2 a day. Plus it is the holidays! Don't i forget to say, my birthday, December 31st is going to be spectacular!

Very cool and very great use of the SimMars mod. Is that grass in the Satellite Place?  Or is that some new kind of super-extra-genetically-modified-plastic-grass?  Anyways, nice updates and great attention to detail as well. Keep up the good work! Welcome to New London Intergalactic Spaceport! We hope you have a nice flight...

This is the main terminal area. Currently, the spaceport has 5 terminal buildings. The ships docked here range from IFPS 2's to IFPS 19's. IFPS stands for Intergalactic Freight and Passenger Ship.

These are the launch pads. The ships here (from top to bottom) are an IFPS 8 Mars Airways and an IFPS 4 Sun Freightways. The loading docks on the right of the picture are the cargo and freight loading terminals.

All of the launch pads are located in this area. Pad 4 (vertical) is being retracted for the day. Past 4 PM most Martian Spaceports slow down. In the center, a Virgin Galactic IFPS 12 taxis to the terminal building.

The new highway connects New London to the Spaceport. The subterrainean docks are the military section of the spaceport. Right now, two of them are being used for Commercial ship repairs. On the lower part of the screen, an IFPS 8 of Mars Airways taxis to a launch pad after being repaired.

Not all IFPS type aircraft take off from a launch pad! The first ship (from the top) is an IFPS 13, the next one is an IFPS 14, and the lower one is a MAE 343 (Mars Aerospace Engineering), all of which are a smaller type of craft. This runway is also used for Ship landings.

This is a shot of Highway 8 as it passes by the spaceport. A mars Airways IFPS 6 is being repaired after a rough landing as a Virgin Galactic MAE 373 Taxis in for repair.

Elemented9 - Grr, you beat me to it! When I was updating, my laptop battery was low, so I  forgot to put that in there. All plants and such are fake on Mars, or are Genetically Engineered to withstand extremes.

Don't be afraid of using those module airport packs which uses taxiways and nice termials. Even though I never did that before, its a nice addition to replace old regular concrete. If you need help just PM me and I'll give you advise on how to's stuff and don't be shy about it.

This is an update about several small settlements outside and around the New London area. Enjoy the trip!

This is New Vancouver. Although there are many settlements here, it is still the same district.

THis is the main settlement of New Vancouver.

I hoped you enjoyed seeing the cities of New Vancouver, New Denver, New Hong Kong, and New Seoul.

And we haven't talked in awhile, because..

Well the first reason was because my computer had a small issue. Second, the power is out. This is causing chaos because my father hasn't been able to bring in our computer because he works for the city of Saint Cloud, doing various things, and snow plowing is one of them.

Poker, for your spaceport, you could use airport lots found in the STEX or LEX which can add more detail to your runways and other things. If you need an example what I'm talking about, just PM me.
