Old time Police Stations

Hello,

Browsing these forums for a while now and never came across something like this.  I was browsing a website called builtstlouis.net, it's a website featuring old buildings no longer there in the city.

 

I found this wonderful looking Police Station that I immediately thought would make an awesome building for SimCity.  http://www.builtstlouis.net/vanish06b.html

Built in 1908, the building served the Twelth District, then one of the city's most affluent. Citizens of the neighborhood demanded that police presence in their neighborhood be dignified and graceful; the end result was the city's only Colonial Revival police station. It was rumored to be modelled on Philadelphia's Independence Hall, though there was little actual resemblance.

The building featured 16 inch-thick walls, a large gymnasium on the third floor, and a mounted patrol stable that for a time housed the city's only electric Studebaker patrol car, when the neighborhood demanded that the smelly horses be removed.

I'm from St. Louis, that's a great site. Though it largely features building's that have sadly been demolished or are threatened.

I'm from St. Louis too, that's why I was checking out that site.  I'm only 27 and don't remember or seen some of those buildings, but the old Arena has a special place in my heart.  I wonder if somebody could do that one as well....
