Wierd letters and signs + Game Crashes

Almost everywere in the game there is &! and different signs infront of the text. I installed the game in English, re-installed but I still got the same problems.  There also seems to be missing text in some places.

Also when I try to build the first road, the game crashes. Just at the moment I choose which road to build. Still there after re-install.

Anyone have the same problem?

yes me to the game crashes every time i try to build everything!!!!!!!!!!i can't play the game yet............

This may seem stupid but I had the same exact problem;

When you are at the login screen; make sure you select a language (option is right under your user name)

Mine was blank and I got '&' in front of every word, when I tried to build anything I crashed. After I selected 'English' I could play the game (and never crashed after that). Hope it works for you guys as well!
