Graphic Issues

Hi, I installed the Simcity 4 Deluxe edition on my Windows 7 64-Bit,everything works fine, until I noticed cars,animals and sims are partially visible.I mean they flicker in and and out,however as soon as I change from hardware rendering to software...everything is fixed.

Is there a disadvantage to using software over hardware? I never had this problem back on Windows XP,I have the following system:

AMD ATHLON X2 6000+ @3.1GHZ

4GB DDR2 RAM-800MHZ

GEFORCE 9800GTX+ 512MB

WINDOWS 7 64-BIT

Also I noticed the game isn't very smooth, I have to turn the shadows down to low for me to be able to smoothly scroll around citys.

Anyone have any tips for improving the gameplay experience?

I also have to ask if there is a way to play it full screen on 1920 by 1080? as the only option I get is 1280 by 1024 or 1600x 1200.

Everything is turned on and highest settings, except shadows on low..I understand it is an old game and we cant expect it to be supported by developers after so many years.

However my system is more then powerful enough...yet I'm getting sub-par performance,if anyone has any tips to improve performance, I'd appreciate it.

I've got the same problem, Win 7 64, AMD 5200+, 3GB RAM, GTX260. I'm using software mode.

For the resolution, edit your Simcity 4 shortcut similar to this example and replace the res numbers with 1920x1080:

"G:\Games\SimCity 4 Deluxe\Apps\SimCity 4.exe" -CustomResolution:enabled -r1680x1050x32 -f -intro:off
