Hey, first post here 4.gif

I am having a problem with my city. Its a reasonable size. 11,000 people and its all low housing. How do i start to make the housing bigger? Like apartments that can hold 125-150 people?

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to Simtropolis!

Apartments only grow on medium and high density residential, and must be watered. I'm not sure about what the population has to be for them to start growing, though.

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

Welcome, Zealous!

As Astronelson said, large appartments can only grow on medium and high density residential zones. Of course, they must be watered and have a power connection. As far as my experience goes, appartments often grow in vicinity of commercial areas and in places where jobs are nearby. I don't know if land value, education etc. contribute to the growth, but tell us about your experiences.
