Hmm... Where did you put the subway stations? Are they connected directly to a main central subway line?

I absolutely did not pic that version, its been an on going problem and it is really annoying when you have downtown residentials that are all of a sudden abondoning after being perfectly fine for 50 years. Peaple in real life travel like an hour on the freeway to get to work in some cases. In sim city, they will travel like 1km, its really unrealistic and deflating.

Well, I'm sure we can figure out what's going on here - it's no longer unavoidable to have this type of abandonment in the game. First of all, I'm assuming that like the original poster, you're running some version of Simulator Z. If this is true, could you post a picture of your RCI Demand Graph, and also let us know what your city's current population is? A list of your current tax rates would also be very helpful.

If this was a transport issue then im sure the abandonment would be residential, not commercial.

By file name, I mean a name of the form "NetworkAddonMod_Traffic_Plugin_" followed by more detail. What's the name of that file in your Network Addon Mod folder?

In your Plugins folder, there is a folder named "Network Addon Mod." Inside that folder, there are a number of folders and a number of files. One of these files starts "NetworkAddonMod_Traffic_Plugin_". What is the complete name of this file?

There aren't other folders inside. There are only files such as readme, instructions ecc. I've nevere seen other folders inside any NAM folder. However what did you mean to do?

i can only assume then that you do not have the NAM installed properly. if you cannot find these files in your plugins, then there is not much we can do to help. if you must, use Windows to search for "NetworkAddonMod.*", and see what it returns.

Ch0c0's diagram is correct, although by default, these files are located in the main Network Addon Mod folder, not the Plugins subfolder. But from your description, it sounds like you may not have your Explorer view set properly. Try setting it to "List" or "Details" (use the View menu to set these).

Ditto with me since installing latest NAM. Used Perfect Pathfinding X5 Capacity and yet I have a tile of 35K industrial jobs...but a abandoning population at just 11K.

I didn't have this problem under the JAN 2008 NAM.

    Will do.

The reason why I have always used the Perfect Pathfinding is because I have always had excellent results from it. I had a region where Large City Tiles's were willingly crossed by highway in order to get to work. Some of my highway's were used as much as 43K in some instances. The most I have had of late since installing 2009 NAM is 3K.

I will tell you my results following your guidance; many thanks for your help so far!

Z1: Apologies for not reporting back, I have had a bout of RL Syndrome this week (it's a long story!) so I haven't really had the chance to try out your recommendations. When I get a window free, I will test and report back.

Thank's for your assistance so far.

Apologies for the double post (the above is dated September)

After tinkering about, the problem is still with me, this is with the pathfinder engine Simulator Z (Ultra).

In neighbouring tiles, when the problem arose, I put down a few bus stops. This solved the problem. Last night, I started to develop a tile which is predominantly meant to be residential as I have a CBD tile next door which has a commercial poulation of aprrox 150k. The tile (named Gilderdyke) started to mass abandon at a population of 30k. I wouldn't mind but I have traffic on one avenue passing clean through this tile from another, with traffic usage of 10k. I did plop some car-parks next to some bus stops, this didn't really encourage people back.

Would you like some in game images? I do have some dumps from the Region Census below.

1st dump: Adjacent City tile with high com pop (Featherstall)

2nd dump: Problem City Tile (Gilderdyke)

    3rd dump: Region Stats

I have an extensive road network and bus transit stops. Rail hasn't been developed.

Any thoughts as to what is going on??

What I might do is see if tiles the other side of Featherstall suffer from the same problem.
