A Better System for Labeling Roads?

I've searched everywhere, but I can't seem to find any mods which affect the SC4 Rush Hour labeling system.  Would anyone know if the labels can be modded? (or how, for that matter?)

What I'm looking for, I guess, is a system where the labels don't disappear if you make a couple of changes to the road, and maybe the ability to have labels continue between cities (like, for example, in regions where you have long highway systems and you want to have a consistent numbering scheme).

Is there anything like this out there?  Is it possible?  Could it be done by a novice modder (like myself)?

I haven't seen anything, but I agree with you, it would be really nice if those labels didn't disappear. I have no idea how to do this, though, or even if it's possible.

I dunno, but I doubt labels could have an effect across a region.

As for the label being auto-added to every section of road so it doesn't go away, it would be cool, and it sounds possible.

I also think it would be cool if, based on the road name, buildings running along the road were automatically renamed accordingly. I don't expect a mod like this to come out soon, if ever, but I'm wondering if it's possible in the first place.

The only thing I think you can modify with labels is the color and font.

But that's all I know; I know very little about modifications.
