Welcome to the great wide lands of Nolomba! This is the first attempt at a city journal, so be kind/rough/apathetic! Oh, and it's vanilla SC4.

About the Map: Nolomba was created from a terrain map I found on the interwebs and modified a bit after importing it into SC4 Deluxe. I was pleased with the default config.bmp that SC4 generated, since the terrain map didn't come with one.

About the Design: Nolomba isn't meant to be overly realistic or too Sim-ish. It's sort of the delicate balance between compact "MUST....USE....ALL....SPACE!!!!" design and "omg, it's like I've visited this place before!" It's not going to be a crazily populated place either.

The Stats:

  • Residential Population: 350,907
  • Commercial Population: 76,414
  • Industrial Population: 97,565
The Region: And now, the moment you've been waiting for.... Nolomba!!!

Yeah, it's kind of hard to see the region. I quickly took a shot in Region Census and then played with the background in Paint, hehehe... UPDATE: Click on the map to see the full-size version in a new tab/window (warning: 3 MB .PNG file!)

The Major Cities:

http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/889/cityonemapv.png

City One: City One is the capital city of Nolomba. Its name derives from the fact it is the first major city of Nolomba. City One has, as of August 18, 2009, a total of over 180,000 residents. The downtown living district (the part sticking out of the large jut-out, west of the large green rectangle) is one of the most populated areas of the city in such a small space on the waterfront with over 40,000 residents there.

The main freeway, F1, starts at the north from Port Jacques, goes south through Old Town, through the south of the aptly-named "Dirty District" via a tunnel, comes out in a commercial district, continues south, and turns west towards Wilburg (an upper-class waterfront district) and an area east of Wilburg. The F1 will continue west of Wilburg to the next city over. F1 cloverleafs near Wilburg, going south on the F2 though another major industrial district to the unincorperated area south of City One.

City One is complete. I managed to top it off at 181,361 residents with 50,862 commercial population and 44,585 industrial population. Oh, and those cool pillars along the highways are the Washington monument edited to cost 1 simoleon and no monthly cost. And the thing on the island across from downtown is the Nolomba Government Building, a custom landmark.

City Two: Continuing in the naming scheme of City One, this little chunk of Nolomba isn't anything too special, just another hundred thousand residents.

Port Jacques: A smaller town of about 30,000, Port Jacques holds a major seaport along Lake Sesarin, as well as the beginning of the freeway, F1, and the midpoint of the recently-started F3. This city is partially a large landfill and recycling center, handling the trash of City One and most likely any smaller neighbouring cities.

Johnsonville: One of the smallest towns in Nolomba, this little vacation spot is a quiet farm town on the isthmus whose front end sticks into City One. Johnsonville has a population of a little over five thousand and an airstrip on the island north of the farmlands.

Ashshine: Split into the north and south halves using two small tiles, South Ashshine is solely a residential/commercial town while North Ashshine is completely industrial. Ashshine lies to the east of Port Jaqcues and is reachable via the F3 highway.

Sorry for the double post, but I've updated the City One pics with both the traffic and satellite maps.

You should go to youtube and search for "money tree SC4", if you keep running out of money.

    Trust me.

With this tree, you will never run out.

Anywho, nice start on your CJ (except for the running-outta-money deal 15.gif)

Eh, no thanks. I'm playing this mostly vanilla with no cheats/ploppable "cheats". Except for a download of the CN Tower, but I don't really plan on using that. Might BAT up some cool towers or something, though.

Okay, screw the whole "no custom buildings" thing, I'm creating some new landmark lots for governments and such.

Oh, and adding palm trees to some ploppable buildings for the waterfront, hehehe...
