A NYC BAT Team?

Maybe now since there is 4(myself, Hanson784,b_schlurf, and Don Miguel) members of the NBT(or NYC BAT Team? which do ya'll prefer?), maybe soon I should start a official thread for our team. This one was more for finding members for it.

Now I'm wondering, for our team, if members should focus on different neighborhooods in Manhattan and in the other Boroughs. I'm mainly BATing buildings in the Financial District, maybe Battery Park City, and some of TriBeCa. Or should we all just have a mix of which buildings in districts we should create. I'm not sure maybe just mixing it up would be better.

EDIT: b_shlurf and Don Miguel may be members. Ya'll can join and I would appreciate it, but I already said you were members and I realized that maybe ya'll haven't decided if you would like to join but you can.

Well xChicago, I'm glad you're interested in learning but this isn't really the thread to teach you how. There are many tutorials in the forums that will help you and tell you how to BAT and what programs you need and could use.

Thanks for becoming an official member b_schlurf! I've seen many of your creations and they are fine additions. Midrise and old buildings before the forties would be great! It seems I prefer more modern styles like mainly the post-modern and interational styled buildings from New York. I also like the few brutalist ones as well. That's where I'm good at is mainly modern. I am working on a building from before the forties and also already made one.

BTW b_schlurf, do you use sketchup7 pro to put your creations in gmax? I do that, but I have a second computer with the trial of the pro version while the one I'm using now has the regular free versions. I have to switch computers alot only to export my models in 3ds. but since I only do that, I don't use alot of time on the Sketchup7 Pro at all. So I can still BAT for a long time. 4.gif

yes, that's the way ... sketchup pro, next half year in university i give 3dmax a try ... for now it's just the base to get it nightlighted and exported!

if you do modern stuff and i do old ones is good i guess so at least we two don't interfere with each other , which i think even if wouldn'd be a problem at all ...

... hope DonMiguel is somehow on board as well!

keep us updated, i gotto go to bed now, it's half past one in germany!

    cheers

I like this, this will be extremely helpful for my cj my request is that someone BAT the corona towers and unisphere located at flushing meadows park in Queens NY. Someone should also redo the nyc subway pack in a higher definition. I hope to see a wider selection in brownstones and tenements.

Please feel free to comment, like and/or subscribe to my New York City recreation CJ....Thanks *;)

Well this is a great idea! certainly much needed. Personally i'm quite a fan of New York and while most of my BATs are on Boston i do plan to occasionally play around with some New York stuff. At the moment im rendering a tower that is basically a hybird of times square buildings and a building in Boston. I can't commit myself to you but I could if you'd like give you a bat every once in a while or at the least help out with modding and lotting.

Kryptowhite thanks, you will be very helpful. A tower that resembles the Times Square buildings and a building in Boston you say? That's interesting. I can't wait to see it.
