John Hughes, director of Uncle Buck, Ferris Bueller's Day Off and The Breakfast Club, script writer for Home Alone, has died of a heart attack at 59. No other director captured the late '80s or the Chicagoland area so well. He had a hand in many movies not immediately associated with his name.

Let no one yield, we're on the field where deeds eclipse the sun; where the brave are told on a thread of gold, the tapestry is spun. As they speak of dreams, their armor gleams, this calm before the storm... Where all can see their destiny, the bishop takes the pawn.

One of my Favorite all time movies is Trains, Planes and Automobiles, the great Steve Martin and The late great John Candy at thier best.

Didnt like the teen angst movies, although ferris bueller was ok.

Loved a lot of the movies he was only the writer of, the Vacation movies, Uncle Buck, The Great Outdoors. He seemed to like working with John Candy, I dont blame him.

he will be missed even if he hasnt done anything recently.

Home Alone is one I'm just sick of, but I can recommend any of his other projects. Ferris Bueller is a must-see, as is Uncle Buck.
