I can't figure out how to install buildings from this site into the game (i just joined). I went to the ST Exchange with the list of things to download and clicked on the name of one of them (since that was all i could think to do), brnging me to the details page. There there was something to click on that said download, so i clicked on it. When i did, a message popped up saying that i could either open or save the zipped file. I cliked on open and waited a while, but nothing happened. I checked in my plugins folder and there didn't seem to be any change there either. So i cliked on save. I got to choose where to save the file to, so i saved it to my plugins folder. It took about ten minutes to download, but the zipped folder showed up in my plugins folder (idk if i installed it). What am i doing wrong? Please help, thanks.

Hello Northsider... Welcome to Simtropolis...

When you download an item, use the Save option. It's usually easier to just download the zip file to your computer, and then open and install. Once the zip is on your computer, unzip and place the enclosed files in your plugins folder. Or you can extract to the plugins. Depends on how you do it. Simply having the zip folder in your plugins doesn't work Might want to check this quick guide for more info if needed. Hope this helps. Let us know if you need anything else...

Well, I would have to see one to be sure, but it is probably referring to how the files are installed to the Plugins folder. Most downloads are unzipped and the unzipped files are placed in the plugins manually. Some downloads (such as NAM) come with an installer. This is an exe file that you run to install the files. The installer will place the files in the plugins automatically.

there are some mods with installers, but it is really quite easy to install most mods, with the exception of the NAM.(it can be so complex that it can take quite a while to install without the installer.)Most mods dont have installers, though. What I do is just download the .zip9like usual.) then open it with my computer, then click "File" at the top, and click extract. that unzips the files. I just put the destination in the plugins folder.

when there is an installer for a mod, just download it, it is usually in the zip, so you still have to unzip it to get the installer.

Yes, like the others said, that's an .exe file inside the downloaded .zip file that you run to actually install the plugins. Once you've downloaded and extracted the files to your plugins folder, just run it.
