Modifier Key for Zoning

I was watching one of the Youtube tutorials (newbie here) and it was reccommended to zone commercial in 4x4 tiles for eventually getting skyscrapers.

I know the uploader was using PC and said 'hold CTRL', however even with 'Shift' all I ever get is 3 tiles deep.

Anybody know the modifier key?

the key you are thinking of is alt..

make sure that you don't move over any roads or objects (only open land adjacent to the road) click your zone, hold the alt key and it will make a seamless zone to the size of your desires

also try bigger: 4x4,5x4,5x5,5x6,6x6

Each key (shift, Option, and Control) doe something different.

Shift - No Streets

Option - Rotate 90 Degrees

Control - One Piece

Combinations of the above will combine actions, or in some cases, Option + Control will rotate 180 degrees.
