problem rendering maps

i really need some help.....i've followed the tutorial and am still having problems. when i download a map from STEX and try to import it to Sim City, either nothing happens (still a flat, grassland) or everything has been risen by 100 meters (no water). i erased all of the height plugins. what in the world is going on???

If the region doesn't render, and everything else is done right, then the grayscale.jpg might not be a true 8 bit, 256 color grayscale.

If the region doesn't render like the image on the download, you may need a height mod. The most common one is the "import.dat".

If you exit the SC4 window while rendering, you will ruin the whole region.(flat lands)
