Update Warning

I Have a SimCity 4 Rush Hour and I Install the patch (.638) and I recieve a warning

warning wpt0036: Old File not found. However, a file of the same name was

               found. No update done since file contents do not match.

PLease Help ME. I want NIghtlight

Did you install the Rush Hour patch before you installed the nightlight patch? You can't put the nightlight patch straight on to the Rush Hour unpatched. The correct order is: install the game, install the Rush Hour patch and then, last of all, install the night light patch.

Check the version of the Simcity 4.exe, if it is 1.1.638.0 then the patch installed. If it didn't install then you may have a Simcity 4.exe that has been altered.

That explains it. you need to run the patch first. then the nightlight patch. it has to be done in order.

"If" you are using a no-CD exe, or crack, the update patch won't work.

Go into add/remove programs (it's in your Windows control panel), and uninstall simcity from there. Then reinstall via CDs.

Go into your Documents/SimCity 4 folder. See the folder called Plugins? Just copy and paste it to your desktop (ctrl+c ctrl+v). Or if you're putting your plugins into the one in program files, go to C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4, and copy the Plugins folder in there to your desktop.

Once you've reinstalled, simply drag the content from the saved plugins folder to the new one.

This folder will show you which is the right region for your game:

C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4 Deluxe\Sku_Data\Sku?_??

Since you don't live in the America's, you may need a different SKU than SKU_1.

Uninstall the game you have now, then delete the Simcity 4 Program Files folders [except the Plugins folder] before you start the new game installation. When you insert the disc 1 the install should start automatically. If not double click the setup file on disc 1.
