how do i change my picture of my profile? i'm a newbie on this site....

My first thing to say is, welcome to Simtropolis! And thanks for helping dirk grow his army of members!

If you want to change your picture, scroll to the top of the Simtropolis home page or any forum page. In the right hand side-upper corner you should see a box that has your username and picture. In that box there is a link to "My Profile". Click it. Now scroll down to the third section, Miscellanous options. The fourth option says "Author icon". Under the drop down list, you can choose any default icon you want, or you can click "View all" to see all the icons.

If you want to upload your own picture, make sure it's less than 80x80 pixels, save it, select "upload your own author icon", click browse, and find it. pretty simple. You can see my author icon is a perfect square. They work best as squares, but they work as rectangles, too. Glad I could help!
