Bea Arthur dead at 86

Bea Arthur has passed from cancer, she was 86. From the role of Lucy Brown in Broadway's Threepenny Opera,

to Maude, The Golden Girls, Mel Brooks' History Of The World Part I and Dewey's babysitter on Malcolm in the Middle (quieter!), her career was long and distinguished.

Let no one yield, we're on the field where deeds eclipse the sun; where the brave are told on a thread of gold, the tapestry is spun. As they speak of dreams, their armor gleams, this calm before the storm... Where all can see their destiny, the bishop takes the pawn.

I loved The Golden Girls too.     She had a good, long life. 

One of the newscasters said it was "a life cut short by cancer".   I don't see it that way.   How is 86 years a life cut short?
