Creating smooth diagonals with hole digging lots

I've been having a bit of trouble creating smooth diagonal walls using the whole digging lots.

The problem becomes readily apparent when you start adding the sunken highway walls (left of the picture):

As you can see, there is a zig-zag effect and the fences don't fallow the grass line.

By comparison this is how it should look like (top of the picture):

I can't figure out why it's smooth sometimes but other times it's bumpy.

Can someone please explain how to lay the tiles so that this effect does not occur.

If you had thoroughly read the ReadMe file that came with those walls by Mas71, you would have noticed the link he provided to pjot's fix for diagonal jagged edges.

There is another set of mods which are better, in my opinion, because they can be used with terrain mods and produce a more pleasing effect on the overall terrain.  They are by Ennedi and if you are registered at the LEX, you can download them here.

For Ennedi's mod, be sure to read the ReadMe!

I tried Ennedi's mod, and yes I did read the read me, but I can't seem to get it to work.

I use the Italia Terrain mod, and I noticed in the comments that other people who use the Italia Terrain mod have had difficulty getting it to work.  Can someone confirm that it does function with the Italia Terrain mod, or provide a link to a similar terrain mod .

    Cheers,

Make sure you rename the terrain mod folder by adding two or three z's to the front of it, followed by an underscore (zz_CPT_TerrainMod_Italia), then place Ennedi's DJEM in there.  I just tried it, and got cliff textures at 13.4 meters and above, just like it's been modded to perform.  If you are still seeing jagged edges at that height or above, contact Ennedi for support.  To check terrain height, open the cheat box (CTRL+X) and type

    terrainquery on

then press the enter key.  Select the query tool, and wherever the cursor is hovering you will see a little balloon with information in it.  The value for Y is the height of the terrain in meters.  If your base terrain is 270m, you should see cliffs at 283.4m and higher.  To get rid of the info balloon, use "terrainquery off."

    Cheers, it's working now.

I renamed the file, not the folder (I could've sworn it said to rename the terrain mod file).

    Anyway it's all good.
