Random CTD with newer drivers

Back in the day, I was able to use the nVidia ForceWare 61.77 driver with everything, including SimCity 4. As games have progressed, I had to make the update to 169.21. This driver works well in all of the newer games, but causes a few of the old ones to crash, SC4 included. If there's a known graphical reason for the crashes, it'd be very helpful to know. 9.gif

I have been having random(well mostly when I zoom) CTDs. I have read most forums dealing with crashers and what worked for me is to set the priority to high(in task manager) for simcity4, and then enable the use of one core(if u have dual or more). Just search CTD in the forums. There is alot out there.

Setting the priority does make a little sense, but setting the affinity doesn't seem related since I can narrow this down to directly video driver related. I was hoping someone would say (for example) "Oh, yes, using high shadow settings will cause crashes in newer drivers."

I didn't think of it before, but I'll upload a screenshot of my video settings when I get a chance.
