all in-game lot sizes?

hi - I'm trying to plan out my road spacing so that when my city reaches a certain population, I'll be able to get more of a variety in my buildings. I've noticed that once the city reaches a certain point, I can zone larger lots - but I was wondering what some of these large lots are - at what population do they start to appear, and if there existed a chart or pictures of the largest in-game lots and their prerequisites (i.e. demand, population, desirability)? for example - I have a city of 50k and I have a co$$ lot that takes up 4x6 - are there more of these? are there larger growable lots? I've searched these forums, and have been able to come with very little info - maybe someone can point me in the rich direction. Thanks!

Growable Lot sizes can be as large as 6x6 tiles,...that is the largest I've found using the Lot Editor,...custom made Lot sizes that are growable can be larger, but those are not common.

Plopped Lots can be almost any size up to 64x64 tiles,...that's the limit, I believe...but, none exist that are that large to my knowledge.

Oh man, 64x64 would be insane... someone should make a "plop-a-city" haha.

Actually, lots around 6x6 and larger are somewhat common, many landmarks may not take up the same amount of total area, but can get to be quite large (11x4, 8x3, 5x10, etc).

As for your question, for CO$$, 4x4 is usually the largest, I don't recall seeing anything larger than that.

Actually, growable, or Lots that appear in RCI zoned areas have a maximum size of 6x6 tiles, unless they are specifically custom made to be larger,...see this tutorial:

Making growable lots larger than 6x6 - Megalots

While these types of Zoned, or "growable" Lots larger than 6x6 do exist, again, they are not  common, they are specially made, or "custom" Lots.

Landmark type Lots are not zoned, but are "plopped", or placed by the user. These Lot types can be almost any size, up to 64x64 tiles and have a maximum amount of about 870 props, textures, overlays, and transit enabled tiles, combined, that can be placed on them.

To best answer the original question, a few Omnibus articles come to mind:

Demand, Desirability, and Abandonment

For a list of all the growable building Lots available, they are listed in the Lot Editor tool.

Lot Editor: Beginner's Tutorial

Hope that helps.

thanks for the info! I have the mac version, therefore no lot editor... is there a building list somewhere else? I've also tried the "buildingplop" cheat and it doesn't work either. I just want to see the available building types.

hmmm,... notice how they all disappeared after you mentioned the words "Mac version"? Kinda like in Woody Guthrie's  "Alice's Restaurant",...."and they all moved away from me",...

There is a solution,...unless you have the type of Mac version that does not like single process, Intel based software,...then there's no solution, other than getting a new Laptop or PC.

This is from Zelgadis post in FORUMS>SimCity 4 Mac Users>Get your Maxis files here>

Lot Editor and BAT are now up!

If you have an Intel Mac, Virtual PC, or something else, download and enjoy!quote>

The reason nobody has made a list of Maxis Lots available and their sizes, is because the Lot Editor application already does this,...but, be sure to get the Mac versions of bldgprops_vol1.dat and bldgprops_vol2.dat to go with the LE,...enjoy!
