Buildings Disappearing on Import

Hello, everyone, people of Simtropolis! I've come here to seek help upon some strange error I can't seem to correct.

I'm playing SC4 on two places - a laptop on Vista and a PC on Win XP. For some strange reason, buildings from my cities are missing when I reimport them over our WLAN network especially on the PC side from the laptop. Here are some screenshots:

Both installs of the game are identical in terms of version, profiles, and plugins and I maintain a specific folder that both share so there won't be any incompatibilities. I'm not sure but I swear I haven't used any custom growables on my cities. Importing cities from the PC and into our laptop don't seem to cause any problem as cities on the laptop appear fine.

Demolishing the empty lots where buildings used to be actually works as a patch-up solution but the problem is that half my city this time has missing buildings. :\ (I also noted that saving that newly imported city produces a smaller file compared to the unimported backup of the same thing.) Can anyone offer any advice or solution to this?
