Schools depreciating...

All of the schools/places of education sharply drop in capacity and radius with each month for seemingly no reason. Usually about 25%, all the way down to zero within a year.

This just started today. Before I played, I'd created a new high school, and edited the values of one of the elementary schools that I had already made, and had already placed in the game. But ALL eduaction values, even on Maxis buildings, are having this issue. Pretty distracting. Any suggestions?

You stated the problem, anytime you change the values of civic lots that are already in the city, you will get the funding bug. You will have to bulldoze all the lots that have the changed values to remedy the bug. If you want to change the values you must remove all of that type of lot first.

So bulldoze all of that particular lot, or all of the education lots?

And are we talking everywhere, or just in whatever city I'm in, fixing as I go?

You need to bulldoze all lots with the new values.

If you still have the values changed on the lots, you need to get them back to the original before you plop any of them in cities that have the original values. You can't have two identical lots with different values in the same city.

If the high school you made is a totally different lot than any you have plopped previously then it should be ok.

If that is not clearly worded then ask again, and I'll make another try. :-)

Heh, all right, let me re-fire.

If I delete all of the changed lots in the city that I'm working in right now, and just that city, will I be okay re-plopping in that city? Or do I have to cleanse and get rid of all the schools that were changed in ALL of my cities in the regions, ending it all at once.

It is city by city, and not a regional fix, any city that has lots with the original value, those lots must be removed before lots with new values can be used. If you have other cities that have the same lot with different values, they also need the "cure".
