Another new user with NAM installation problems

Hi,

I installed the update which Thedutchjelle linked to for my Mac version of SC4RH Deluxe. I also noted the Update1 comment in the NAM documentation but proceeded with the installation since it says it is 'preferred' only, but not required. However I'm still having problems getting the NAM system to work. I'm experiencing the "red arrow" issue which so many people seem to come across.

I followed the instructions very closely and had no previous mods/plugins installed at all. On many sites it explains what could cause this problem but most don't address exactly how to resolve it - and from what I've seen in other people's posts/threads many people have come to a dead end with these problems.

I chose the "NetworkAddonMod_Automata_Plugin_Standard.dat" for the Automata Controller and the "NetworkAddonMod_Traffic_Plugin_A_Medium.dat" for the Traffic Controller. In the installation instructions is a comment about "NetworkAddonMod_OverpassUpdate_Maxis_Components_Plugin.dat" which does not exist in the Mac version of the NAM download package, but I am unsure if this is a problem since it's not mentioned as an essential component of the installation.

Also if I am having the red arrow issue should I assume the other non-visible components of NAM are also not working? What else can I do to diagnose this problem? I can post a screenshot of my Documents/Simcity 4 if that would help so you can see the directory structure...

I also deleted the com.aspyr.simcity4.plist file and restarted the game but this had no effect. Thanks in advance!

Edit: Fixed my post, seems the FCKEditor doesn't load in Safari so my post was missing paragraphs

OK I've given up on the Mac version altogether. The PC version running in VMWare runs a LOT faster and smoother, and the graphics look better even in software rendering mode! I think I've got NAM working in the PC version now as well. 4.gif
