Snow caps etc

Hi There--

I'm running Sim City 4 Rush hour and none of my higher elevations, such as the Rockies or Banff etc have snow caps.  I tried using a snow modd from PEG but nothing happened.  I'm wondering if anyone can help with this.  I really like building mountain cities and towns and would like this added effect.  Thanks!

Ryan

Did you put the modd in your sc4 plugins folder? If not, this is why it is not working most likely. If you did, I can't help much. (sorry)

I think what you need is this.

Hope it helps.

Hi-- I've installed, into the Plugin folder, the file Pingangster linked. According to the directions, I must have the arctic textures plus ONE of the three specific mods such as snow cap or snow cap low. I only have snow cap in the plugin folder. I still don't have any snow caps 43.gif( Thanks.

Hi Ryan would prob help if you put both snow caps and snow caps low into your plugins, then you should have snow on the higher elevated ranges. hope this helps.

p.s. don't put all three in, it won't work

    Hi Buildsolid--

I did as you said...so I have the arctic textures, snow cap, and snow cap low in there and still nothing. I appreciate your help-- but any idea what could be keeping this mod from showing?

Hey its not useless-- it at least tells me I have the right files! As for them being high enough-- the mountains-- I'm using the Banff map download from STEX. I figured that would do it-- but I'll have to go in again and make the mountains higher or perhaps, start from scratch.

I just don't know if there is anything else in there that could be messing up this particular modd.

    Hi, ryan820,

Welcome to Simtropolis.  Actually, I never could get the mod that was linked to work--don't know what I was doing wrong either.  You might give one of Jeronij's Snowcapped mods a try, that is what I'm using now.  There is a higher and a lower one, just use one, and you must register to download them from SC4Devotion.  They seem to work with all Cycledogg's terrain mods.  If I remember right, it didn't work when I first installed it, but showed up after a bit of fiddling around.  If the same happens for you, you might try either putting it in a folder with ZZZ in front of the name, or putting ZZZ in front of the name.

    Enjoy the game.

Liv! It worked! Thanks so much for those tips. I loaded one of my favorite regions and I had snow caps. Thanks so much.
