Before I begin, I would like to remind everyone that I do not mean this to be politically sensitive, as it is 100% FICTIONAL.

It all began just after the Louisiana Purchase. Napolian Boneparte had set out a naval force to confront the British navy. on January 15th, 1805, the French naval force had arrived on a massive uncharted island, slapped right in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. The French had no idea where they were, as the island was completely empty besides the wildlife. They set up a fort, and planted their flag in 5 different locations. In about 5 years, Boneparte had sent enough supplies to build a fort to consturct ships and fight the British navy.

When one Frenchmen was traveling down the coast on a frigate, he encounted a Spanish settlement. His crew fired a warning shot. *BOOM*... nothing. Apon docking, they realized the settlement was completely abandoned. The Spanish flag flew proudly off the top of what looked like a government structure... but nobody was around for miles.

The Frenchmen soon returned to the French fort to inform General Benout about their discovery. He quickly assumed that it was the British's doing. The Frenchmen was quick to argue, saying that there were no ships, no British flags, and no signs of resistance.

Before Benout could respond, a cannon volley quickly was fired at the French village by a British frigate. Two French warships overcame the British force, and it was sunk for good. Then, out of the forest, several soildiers came out. They were awoken by the cannon fire. As the French tried to fight back, they soon realized that they were zombies! The abondoned Spanish colony had somehow mutated into a massive zombie army, living on Seaborg Island!

All intelligant life was quickly overcome, and left for dead. The island would remain hidden and unpopulated for many years to come.

In 1880, a group of Chinese explorers found the island. They arrived on the southern side of the island, as opposed to the Europeans who had made their last stand on the northern part of the island. The Chinese government claimed it as their own. Since it was technically not a part of the Americas, it didn't violate the Monroe Doctorine. The Chinese were very happy on the island, and quickly set up civilization.

During World War 1, an American warship's navigational systems failed, and went off track. They docked in the Chinese town of Duough Shing (Renamed "Mana Hawk" after American takeover). The Chinese welcomed the American seamen into their town. They helped them repair their ship, and off they went. Before leaving, an American asked one of the English/Chinese speaking islander where they were. He responded "Where nobody can find us".

The Americans did not go to Germany as intended. Instead, they returned to Miami and informed the officals as to what they found. President Woodrow Wilson ordered that the information not be released to the public. Instead, he ordered that the goverment buy out the island. So, they sent a diplomat to the island, and offered to buy the island from the Chinese islanders. They willingly accepted, and left for China, and very wealthy.

When they informed the Chinese goverment, they were instantly furious. Not only was the purchase incorrectly preformed, but they Chinese had lost territory.

Meanwhile, the United States did not populate the island, instead, they left it empty. The reason for this was that it was bought without the Congress's concent, and Wilson wanted to be out of office when it was opened to the public.

On July 18th, 1935, President Franklin Delano Rosevelt was contacted by the Chinese government about the island. They threatened military use if America didn't ceed the island. FDR refused to loose the island. He sent the navy to protect the island. China was also quick to send their warships to Seaborg. This was one of the largest naval battles prior to Peral Harbor. The Americans and Chinese came to a deal, and agreed that the Americans would own the mainland, and China would own a large portion of the island not connected to it. It still remained unpopulated, but that wouldn't remain.

In On December 4th, 1987, President Ronald Regan made a decision that would spark a conflict of intrests. Regan wanted to explore the island, but the Congress wanted it to remain untouched. The Congress refused to pass an act that would allow exploration of the island. Regan ultimately gave up on exploration and focused on fixing the wailing economy.

The island remained unphotographed until 1997. President William J. Clinton had ordered a military strike on a terrorism camp set up in South Africa. When the warships passed Seaborg, several of the crew photographed it. The strike was successful and captured most of the terrorists. Apon return, the photos were sent directly to the White House. President Clinton had the photos examined by his staff before releasing them to the press. One of the examiners noticed a human-like figure in one of the photos. They were unable to determine the figure, so they held the photos from the press, and sent they navy to the island, thinking it was being populated illegally.

The navy arrived a week later, and docked in the ruins of a Chinese harbor house. They left the ships heavily armed, riding in military jeeps around the island. The naval soldiers soon arrived at the abandoned French colony. They found nothing but the remains of their civilization, and the remains of French soldiers. Then, out of the forest, an undead Spanish soldier walked torward the American soldiers. One soldier aimed his gun at the zombie, and ordered that he state who he was and why he was on the island. The zombie continued to walk torward the soldiers. They then opened fire, thous slaying it. As they examined it, it appered that it was unhuman. It's remains were immidently sent back to the ship in a body bag, and they returned to the US.

President Clinton put the island under immident quarentine, thinking that it was a malicious parisite. But the body examiner found that it wasn't just a parisite. It was a bactiria that infected the soldier, and completely shut off his sence of sociality and self-preservation. All that it knew how to do was kill and eat. Because the bactiria continued to multiply off the food devoured by the host (the zombie), it granted the zombie immortality, unless it is mortally wounded.

It was determined that the soldiers who killed it and brought it back wern't infected. In fact, none of the French soldiers who were massicured by it centuries ago were infected, either. The bacteria cannot be transferred by any means of contact.

in 2005, President George W. Bush pushed legislation that would keep the island under quarintine. US Senator Chuck Shumer (R-NY) suggested to the president that the "zombie infestation" could easily be overwhelmed by the US military. But, with two wars raging, the president refused to send any military force to the island. Meanwhile, neither the press or China (who still owned part of the island) were informed.

In 2007, the Chinese government wished to send some of their factories abroad to reduce air polution in China. They sent several industries to Seaborg to set up operation. President Bush did not object, only because China was one of Americas largest trading partners. For the first time, polution reached the pure island of Seaborg. Within months, the islands waters were unsuitible for fish, and the land animals began to die off.

By Augest 2008, Seaborg Island appered from satellites as a floating pile of trash. Regardless that many Senators knew about the secret island, it wasn't brought up in the 2008 election.

It remained secret until the 2010 Senate election came to the general election. Senator John McCain accidently released a White House memo, describing the Chinese use of Seaborg, and the 1997 raid on the island, including the undead human brought back to the US. This sparked an immident uproar, in which many public officals were heavily criticized, and some even resigned under pressure, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

On November 21st, 2011, the US economy had finally been restored, this time it was self-reliant, just like during the early 1900's. President Barack Obama sent the navy to evict the Chinese from Seaborg, who were still heavily poluting the island, and the Pasific Ocean. The Chinese fled before the Americans arrived, but the Chinese government (Still socialist, but now economically unstable) was angered once again. They sent all the navy force they could to combat the American warships protecting the island, just like back in the 40's. This time, the Americans were completely sucessful in driving the Chinese away from the island.

While the Chinese workshops and infastructure lay in ruin, someone had a plan for the islands future. It was Congressmen Ian A. Peters from Connecticut. He planned a Seaborg Island that was 100% enviromentally friendly, and produced NO POLLUTION, WHATSOEVER. President Obama handed over the job of setting up the island to Peters on June 1st, 2012.

Peters asked Obama to run a complete military surge on the island. Since the US was no longer involved with any other nations militarally, he was more than happy to ablige. The military came in and massicured every single zombie on the island. Only one soldier was lost in the battle. He was killed because a group of undead ran over a set of land mines that the military was setting up. After two days of clearing the traps, and cleaning up the ruins left by the Chinese, Peters began construction with a simple seaport in the new city of Mana Hawk.

And so, many cities and highways were built. The cars and mass transit units used absolutly no dirty fuels, only a flex of Hydrogen, solar, and wind. This was also true for the power supply. Many wildlife reserves were set, that allowed the natral beauty of the island to be beheld. Seaborg was, by far, the greenist, and most techniclogically advanced regions in the world.

in the year 2020, the Congress admitted Seaborg to the union as a state, rather than an island territory. President Sarah Palin (yes, she became president) retired there after serving 2 sucessful terms as president.

Thanks for reading the story of Seaborg Island. Once I finish the island, I'll put it up for download in the Simtropolis exchange.

I believe this belongs either in the CJ forums, or the Writer's thread. I'd bet it will be moved there.

Let no one yield, we're on the field where deeds eclipse the sun; where the brave are told on a thread of gold, the tapestry is spun. As they speak of dreams, their armor gleams, this calm before the storm... Where all can see their destiny, the bishop takes the pawn.
