Custom resolution?

Well the thread title is pretty self-explainatory. Back when I played SC4 like a maniac, I had a tiny 15" monitor and as such resolution wasn't an issue. In the years after that I've bought my own gaming rig and a spanking new 22" widescreen monitor... It's pretty sweet to play SC4 on such a big monitor, lets you see a lot of your city 2.gif

Well SC4 doesn't support widescreen in the ingame options, so is there any way to achieve it at all? I mean, I don't mind playing as it is, but it would be great to not have your image stretched all the time.

Thanks for any answers

If you right click on your shortcut icon, go to properties and paste "C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4 Deluxe\Apps\SimCity 4.exe" -Intro43.gifff -CustomResolution:enabled -r1280x800x32 under the target area, you can set the -r1280X800X32 to whatever res you want.

OK, this would be good for me too but I don't fully understand what you, Zezug are saying. Are you saying that I should open up "SimCity 4.exe" and add -CustomResolution:enabled -r1280x800x32?

Ocram's Razor: Though "more things shouldn't be used than are necessary," they're just too fun to pass up! Expect many verbose arguments from me. I will try to write abstracts before or short summaries after from now on.

Words to live by:
"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit... But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11

"Do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34
"Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you." Matthew 7:1-3

I tried this, I changed my icon properties to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Maxis\SimCity 4 Deluxe\Apps\SimCity 4.exe" -w -CustomResolution:enabled -r1900x1080x32 and when I try to click on the icon it does nothing and now I can't get into the game unless I open the file from the drop down menu.
