City/mayor name display in regions

I like to spread out a few cities in any one region and often open a square just to pave a road through to connect them.  Anyone figure out how to blank city and mayor names in "empty" cities so my region looks nicer??

For my regions, I use a grid system based on letters and numbers and name the cities after those (ex: A1, D4). For the mayor name I just put in a period. You could just try using a period for the city and mayor names.
