is there a cheat or anything that can stop the game from having fires??? because they are really making me mad. they mess me up when i'm building my city, like just now a fire caused me to build a street through the middle of my farmland that i did not want.

u need to build more fire stations. the more fire stations u have the less likely a fire will start. place them in high fire hazard areas.

You can disable disasters in the options menu,

You can also prevent the game from automatically re-centering on the site of the fire by disabling "auto go-to disasters", also in the game options menu.

EDIT: I actually don't think disasters themselves can be disabled, only automatic recentering.

Err, i don't think fires can start inside the radius of a fire station. I'm not sure if this applies to hard mode though? On easy mode with adequate coverage you will never see a fire.

If a fire happens, don't even bother dispatching the trucks, just build a fire station near where the fire is. It will automatically go out and won't start again.

Yes, there is an ordinance mod (not a cheat) that lowers global flamibility so much that no fires ever happen. But I dont recall which or where it is. It is very possible that some special modded buildings can do it too, in fact i believe i saw one from raphialninja that claimed it did that too.

I don't think fires will ever start within the range of a fire station, regardless of difficulty level.  This is why it's important to have good fire station coverage. 1.gif

As far as I've noticed, if a fire is already in progress, plopping a station won't automatically put it out and you still have to dispatch.  But it will prevent it from happening again.

EDIT: This mod will prevent fires and riots from occurring: https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=13307&v=1

I dont know - but you may be able to reduce the chances of a fire starting by increasing the water utility funding and making sure everywhere is served.

abandoned buildings are much more flammable than non-vacant ones , also - the "smoke detector ordinance" will reduce flammability by 10%.

If you build a fire station near a high flammabilty zone...its harder to get caught fire...

i noticed that...the fire coverage is also spread better in farm areas...

a small fire station will do the job for a agricultural zone...but if your agricultural zone is big...fire department landing strip is likely recommended...

dispatch the fire planes and they just do the work easily...due to lack of highrises...
