    • All you have to do is press the Insert Image button (It is the last one in the toolbar).
    • Then under the Upload section, browse and select the image you wan't and press the Upload Button.
    • After the picture gets uploaded, press the Done! button.

Voila.....Mission Accomplished. (no off-site picture hosting)

[P.S.: Mind you, Pictures hosted on the Simtropolis Website get deleted after a year or so.]

Yes, you do. If you are using Simtropolis to host your picture then it has to be JPEG. Simtropolis will not accept PNG.

Re-save it and while you are saving it you will see a choice to what to save it as, click on JPEG.

Why can't you host off-site? It's really easy with imageshack or a similar site.

Tell us what you are doing step by step. Basically you should be opening your file, then doing a save as, and selecting jpeg as the file type. Then follow the instructions to insert into a post and make sure you are selecting the jpeg one and not the png one which is probably still floating around in the same folder.

Dont forget to resize it too. Perhaps thats your problem. 800x600 pixels I believe is the biggest size ST accepts.

ST does accept pictures bigger than 800X600, but they get deleted soon after by the admins and mods 3.gif.

Anyway, I think that the problem lies with the file format. If you've got photoshop, open the image, save as a jpeg file and then try and upload it. That's what I do and it works, so there shouldn't be a problem with you doing the same. 48.gif

I'm glad you solved your problem, simmaster.

I know you're new to the site and you couldn't find the answer to your question even after searching for it... no problem. Just one thing: next time you post a topic make sure it's in the right forum... this one would better be in new member information, probably. I'm moving it this time for you.

Oh, I almost forgot... welcome to Simtropolis! 9.gif

    Simmaster,

I'm glad you got your problem solved.

Just a friendly suggestion...  you might get further if you show a little bit of gratitude.  I sense a bit of attitude coming through the end of your thread.  People here are trying to help you, not annoy you.

It's just good etiquette, that's all.
    Cheers
