Missing some stuff

some of my ingame lots and plops have lost some textures and props (yes it rhymes).  I just recently downloaded an update for simcity4 from the official simcity4 website (simcity.ea.com)

I also downloaded a couple dependencies for SimGoobers RLS suburban mall.  I tried raising the games graphics options but that didnt work.

Are there any downloads on Simtropolis that contain the original Maxis textures and props for this kind of situation?

I agree with Tungston. In high details mode, you see those things. In medium, you see some details, but not all. Try this first and then get back with us.

    Tungston! Seeing you RAWKs!

Yeah, I'm still roaming in and out meself,....sporadically.

I decided to pop in tonight for a visit.

I am trying to get an interview with country singer Brittany Clarke, at this very moment, for Hear Say Mag. It's a wait and idle sort of thing, don't 'cha know.

What's up with you lately? Have you been here at ST all along and I miss you, or what?

turn all your texture details and things like that on max and set draw speed to minimum. zoom out a few steps from the closest zoom, and scroll around your city a bit. The houses and such small things will dissappear, leaving what is underneath them to show. When you stop scrolling, the game will take awhile to re-update all the buildings due to the draw speed set to minimum, but when all the loading finishes, you should see everything. You can then probably set draw speed back to default, but you're probably best off leaving the other settings at high unless your computer can't handle it.

BTW, what graphics card are you using?

Did you just download the nightlights modds? I've had the exact same problem ever since I did. I don't know that there's a solution -- there certainly isn't one that I've found, and it's clear that not everybody has this experience, so getting advice isn't easy.

Stex downloads usually are rendered correctly. I think all you can really do is just work on replacing all your default stuff with downloads. If anybody has any better suggestions, I'd be keen to hear them.

I downloaded the patch shortly after posting my earlier reply, and found I had the same problem. Either setting graphics settings higher or simply restarting the game fixed the problem quite nicely.
