Problem with Industrial Parcels

Hey guys I've tried posting this in the Industrial Parcel thread but I'm not getting any replies and I also later read in that board that it's not fir question asking. So apologies for double posting!

I've been having great difficulty Parcelling my industrial zones! I've tried everything, is this what I do?: > Select an Industrial (yellow) zone IM or IHT > Find where you want to place it > Hold CTRL > then Click and Drag across the screen to a size (2x3) etc > Let go of the left mouse button...?

That's what I've been doing, I've tried numerous different combinations; Button combinations, different methods etc and it just wont work, all that happens is what usually happens with the Industrial zoning (it turns into single squares). I did find however that the ALT function works with Residential and Commercial, which gives me some hope.

I've got the AUS patch (the latest) one, i dont have the Deluxe version just the standard.

It's very frustrating for me as you could probably understand and I haven't been able to play the game for approx. 3 days now because I'm at a stage where I want to start developing more IM & IHT and I just can't.

Please Help me! So I can continue enjoying this great game 9.gif

If you are trying to control the Ind zones, it works a bit differently for Ind than Com and Res. Also, you may need Rush Hour or Deluxe for some of the features to work correctly. Check out this short thread for more information on Ind zoning...

If you are just wanting any Industry to grow, just zone the area without worrying about the alignment arrows or parcel lines. Industrial lots will develop on their own without regard to street/road alignment (you'll see the arrows and lines later).

Hope this helps...

Thank you very much for replying it's been doing my head in and even though it's sort of bad news, I'm glad I finally got some closure on the issue. Basically I have to either buy Deluxe and/or Rush Hour yes? Any chance you can give me a quick run down on deluxe? Is it an expansion or would I have to buy it and re-install as a whole new game?

SC4 Deluxe is composed of SimCity 4 and the Rush Hour expansion pack, so you don't need both Deluxe and Rush Hour. Since you all ready have SC4, you could get just Rush Hour, and you would not have to uninstall SC4. However, it may not be as easy to find as Deluxe. If you do get Deluxe, you would need to uninstall SC4 to install Deluxe. Whichever way you go, be sure to update the game from the official site.

ive just got Deluxe, unfortunately i had to D/L it because i could not find it ANYWHERE on the net (in AUS) to buy, so i really had no option. and all my problems are solved. So if u do see anyone else with this issue, that is why, they do not have the deluxe version of the game. simple. now if i could only figure out how to turn of the auto-street assign function id be laughing!

You can hold Shift to zone without the auto-streets.
