Well I have practised lotting for a while and have got better at it now. I released a hedges pack onto the STEX and now heres some other stuff Ive been working on for my european cities. I have one qeustion, can I release these things or not as they use other people's buildings, all the stuff I use though comes from prop packs

Heres what Ive worked on in the last few days

NewCity-11Apr011219165782.jpg

A car park

NewCity-16Apr021219165854.jpg

A block of shops and apartments

NewCity-18Apr021219165874.jpg

NewCity-29May001219165737.jpg

Town centre type stuff.

What Im looking for is constructive critiscm on how to improve these lots

Thanks

Will

The top one is starting to look nice. But how do the cars get in and out of each of the parks? It looks like some of them have to slalom around the lamp posts and letter box. Also there's usually marker lines if they have to drive over paving to get into the park, so that they don't have a head on crash with a car coming out or run over pedestrians. The trees look nice, but what if you make the tree line follow the outline of the car parks rather than the edge of the lots?

Also try to be careful that your props are entirely within the lot borders. Props hanging over can interfere with neighbouring lots, including causing nightlights to fail. You might want to make the lots in pictures 1 - 4 one tile wider so that you can avoid overhangs.

To get a more realistic and lived in appearance, perhaps you could add some overlay textures, eg some worn areas where people walk or cars drive, some leaves under the trees, perhaps some small grass or garden areas.

As far as releasing the lots, you should check any usage agreement for any of the props you have used that are not yours. Its hard to tell without knowing which prop packs you have used. In any case, you must not upload the props themselves if you did not make them yourself. Just make sure there is a name and a link so downloaders can find the pack they need.

Pretty nice. I love the apartments as I am also lotting for my city. Were you going for a diagonal car park?
