custom train station - how to add freight passing?

hello!

I have these custom passenger station and I want to add so that freight trains could pass these stations as well. now it blocks freight rail. I have Ilive open what values I add to transit switch to make freight possible?

I suggest to use SC4Tool's TE Editor for this. Open your lot, and go to the "Transit Switch" tab. Then click on the icon with the star and add two more lines:

Type: Outside-to-inside, In: Freight Train, Out: Freight Train

Type: Inside-to-Outside, In: Freight Train, Out: Freight Train

Both of them with the directions of your tracks selected in the "compass" on the left (depending on your lot layout). "South" (the checkbox at the bottom) is always the direction where the road is displayed in the Lot Editor.

That looks about right, although I would restrict the directions of the "rail - rail" and "freight train - freight train" lines to the actual directions of the tracks on the lot (north - south or east - west). It should work fine the way you set up as well, though.

Should I add like outside car rail and inside rail car?

I want sims to be able to:

take a train and come by train or pass with a train

come by walk and leave by walk

come by car and leave by car (if came by car)

im thinking of adding bus but maybe rather have separate bus station as I do now

and I could also use separate car parkings

Maxis didn't add "Leave by car" for some reason - maybe they thought it would be odd if commuters arrive by train at their destination and "steal" a car to continue the way to their job. However, the logic is flawed, since they will have to take public transportation for their way back home, since they cannot use their parked car at the station where they boarded the train during morning commute anymore. Players were already joking that the moving vans you see when new houses are built rather contain some boxes of inflatable cars, which are stored in the garage - and every morning, the sims blow up one of these cars in order to get to the next railway station.
