Game crash after loading, help needed!

Hi,

I have a windows vista pc, so I have a lot of problems. But this one is new for me. 

I start the game, it will go loading (takes a while). Then I can see my city/region. And when I click on a tile it starts loading the tile. But after a few seconds (aprox. 50 sec) the game crashes/shuts down. I don't know why. It just goes back to my pc screen, like the game never started. Normally if my game crashes, in the middle of the game, it says: Simcity 4 doesn't work anymore. But this time it just says nothing, just,,,,shuts down. 

I was thinking of copying my plugins into an extra folder. Then reinstall my game, saving my saved cities. Then just put my plugins back, I only need to install some of the packs then, but that's no problem. 

But I thought, let's try to ask some advice first before I just reinstall it, maby it's simple to solve.

I need your help, would be very pleased with it.

First question: does it happen on every city tile or just some?

Next: if it happens only on some - do they have ports? airports, seaports? If they do and only these crash then you've got a seaport controller problem.

However if everyone of the tiles crash, you might be best off to start with an empty plugins folder (only essentials, e,.g NAM), Create a new region and try it. If it crashes on that your problem is not plugins but gamve vis-a-vis OS vis-a-vis hardware. In that case you need to post your hardware details - detailed - here before further advise can be given.

I would think a bad plugin used in the crashing city is the problem, or a corrupted game file. Try starting a new city in a new region and see if it crashes there. Also the city's file itself could be corrupted.

About the bad plug-in: that can indeed crash a city. I got shut out of a developed city because I used conflicting seaports - the perhaps most sensitive area in the game: if you recently added one of the following you will have to settle for one or othe other: the BSC seaport controller or the PEG seport controllor. Even then only the seaports (in airport freight stations in BSC/AC/SWAT) listed will work, third party ports not in listed in their readme's will conflict and thus crash cities that have them.

Yep, it was a bad plugin. I removed all the plugins from that day. Then put them back 1 by 1. And 4 of them or so where not going to well (they closed all the folders/maps). So I let them out, and now everything is working again

But which was the plugin? It might help to know which one it was so we can avoid it..
