game wont start

i have been playing sim city for about 6 years now. but a couple months ago i restarted my computer and completly wiped out all my stuff. alsmot the same day i ruined my sim city cd and wasent able to instal it. that really sucked. but about 2 days ago i finally went down to my local fona( danish electronics store) and bought a new simciy4 game for the big price of 99 kroner. i then got home and installed it and was very excited to play sim city for the first time in months. but when i launched the game it wouldnt work. i get that first scene with the bridge over water without any land to be seen. then i get to the part where your mouse cursor changes to that wierd maxis cursor. then i see the ea games logo for just a second. then it freezes and quits without saying a word. now im pretty good at computers, not the best, but pretty good. and i have searched through my hard drive twice over to find maybe so old instalation file or something that is messing with the game but i cant figure it out. i have even tried un installing it and re installing it 6 times but still wont work. so please. if you have any idea what i need to do to get my game to work then please tell me cause i desperatly want to build a city.

windows xp

proffesional

version 2002

intel

pentium 4

2.40GHz

504mb ram

the game is simcity 4 deluxe

and came in one of those EA games classics box

First if you have put in any plugins remove them. Download and install the SimCity patch from here.

As a last resort reinstall the game, as maybe a file could have gotten corrupted.

The same thing happened to me. I had to upgrade my computer for it.
