System Requirements Workarounds?

I've seen the system requirements thread. Pretty hefty. I was wondering if it is possible to lower these by disabling/not using certain features of the game which may use more resources than others. Say, the thing where you drive around in your city. Fun, interesting, but perhaps not essential. Or only building cities on small plots of land.

You can't remove some of the parts of the SC4, since they are hard coded or that modders have no interest in removing or editing parts of SC4.

Playing on small cities reduces the CPU and RAM usage, including reducing the graphic card usage. Playing on plain SC4 requires less system resources than with Rush hour or SC4 deluxe (but you won't see as much functions in the game, and you won't able to use as much plugins if you play on SC4 plain). Also, using only the needed plugins would help the performnece of the game.

The SC4 system requirement is only for the MINIAIMUM system requirement, not the recomended system requirement.
