Raising Demand

How do I, in a city, raise demand for specific things, namely residential areas, and such? Recently I re-installed the game and I noticed that in my cities the demand always slumps. Any help would be nice.

there should be a booklet in your game case. it may say how to increase demand. parks, schools, and hospitals always increase demand. if all else fails, then lower taxes!

1. Place reward buildings that have good effect on your city.

2. Increase the number of jobs.

3. Have good education and health care system.

4. Place cap busters, such as parks.

5 Have a good fire protection and police coverage.

6. Increase deserabilty.

7. decrease tax.

I would definitely reduce taxes for residential and industrial. Also, playing several cities also helps as each new city will increase demands somewhat. Cap busters won't help unless you actually have demand to begin with. Desirability also won't help for the same reason.
