ID Cap Relief

I have a fairly large region (about 1.25 million) and I am looking to expand my dirty industry in order to keep the region balanced.  However, I keep hitting a cap around 15k ID jobs.  Are there any lots (either in game or on the STEX) I can build to relieve the cap?

I think Freight Rail Stations and Seaports do relieve the caps, but I'm not really sure. I also think this is the case with airports, though they are mostly useful for CO$$ and CO$$$.

freight and rail don't seem to do much help. I'm looking for a solution to relieve ID cap substantially. For example, the military base raises the IM cap by 100,000. Does anything of this caliber exist?

when your sims are educated well they dont wont dirty jobs so there will be no need for them, create a few dumb areas with no schools .... they will want ID then

The demand for the ID is present but I am hitting the demand caps for each individual city. I want to have a cty with 100k+ dirty industry but I keep getting capped at around 15k

Well one way to find out if the rail connections actually work is to see if there frieght trains on the tracks. I always thought that each time a train reach the border, it increases the demand cap. Do you have industries directly connected to a rail network with connections to the border? Also, having many road connections help. I have developed cities in the past with only one road connection to each city, and the demand caps were reached very easily.

wow, I didn't realize that it was the amount exported via rail and not simply the rail lines. Thanks a lot.

I believe that road and rail connections have decreasing returns. Let's say the first rail connection adds 10 demand cap relief, the next one only adds 8 or something, for 18 total instead of 20 if it was a set value. That means at some point additional connections would give out. Actual transit across the connection should not affect the demand cap. I'm not positive though, feel free to correct me.

I would think it would be VERY easy to mod a 1x1 park lot to give insane ID demand cap relief, but I'm not good at ze modding so someone else may need to do it for you.

Gahagan you are right about decreasing returns. But if you have different roads, rails, highway connections, it all adds up. As I said, when I only had one connection per city, demand caps were reached very quickly.

A problem with seaports is that the sealevel has to be deep enough to allow ships to connect.
